Genuine: as an American I can point to a lot of good with the bad and say “xyz is what America means to me”. Do you feel a similar way about the UK?

Flying the nation's flag in places other than government buildings on days other than patriotic holidays has ALWAYS been a hallmark of nationalism. Time and time again, the message is xenophobia trying to cloak itself in patriotism. If you're not at the Olympics or World Cup, it's a threat.
