Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
This is why you can't do fake rationalizations, because they circumvent the checks and bounds that prevent those kinds of behaviours. Its why economics reinvented those checks and bounds to be psudorational inefficiencies because an inefficiency is something to be destroyed.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
Econological warfare then would be the use of false logics of economy to trick a psudorational selfish actor into acting in their worst longterm interests
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
The US invented psudorationalization via econolaundering (which I'm coining, to say the numbers add up even if they don't represent reality) which is then conned in econological warfare, where healthy checks are circumvented.

Which is funny because the neighbour who the US thought was the hatman now has a son That son has learned they can pretend to be the hatman to make the US take MORE steroids to hurt itself, so he doesn't have to fight the US himself That's how Trump was elected, via Russian election interference
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
The US actually invented a golem and fought it instead of the other country Drunk on its own propaganda the US tripped balls and saw a benedryl hatman and took steroids to fight the hatman the US is dying of catastrophic irreversible strokes, kidney problems and now strokes caused by said steroids
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
And the US assumed the worst by being mathematically rationally and systemically irrational" (because they assumed technocrats would always make good decisions because technocracy was their idealized endstate).

Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
Its the forced synonymization of mathematics as rationality laundering, and of violent selfishness as rational is a cultural manipulation borne of the spectre of communism in which capitalism expected to bore out some hyper-exaggerated version of itself to preserve itself against communsim.

Utility theory is essentially the mathematics of inventing excuses to justify selfishness and then deciding anybody who doesn't agree with you is at fault. Its also why economics by-en-large are on the whole, assholes who violate social contract and hence can't actually maintain relationships.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social)
Extremely good video. Goes into how game-theory is deliberately reductive in a politicized to normalize socially irrational behaviours of selfishness based on expected utility theory and to denormatize sociologically rational behaviour.

Conflicting design, which is good. Stands out. The shoulder and thorax arrangement is really great. Doubly so if its articulated. I see a potential gimmick: It could pick a weapon up without having to bend down, or accept extra arms as a backpack and the regular set hang down as skirting?

If they care about this country, why are they using a flag associated with nationalists and not the union jack? We have a flag in my country. Its a very good flag. I feel it still needs the Welsh dragon which would be the most badas part of the flag, but we do indeed have a flag.

I don't have the legal freedom in the UK to actually say what I want to say about reform. The closest I can do is, if you want to know what all the Saint George flags posted everywhere are about, add four more lines. I wish I could post a "what they say / what they mean" meme, but I legally can't.

Been thinking about simple vehicle/drone enemy designs for games: Cybersled or Forsaken or Wipeout, or Deathdrome, or Extreme G, etc, etc where they're all very simple small vehicles lacking knee-joints a lot of the time. Things which are "like fun toys to smash" What do you like?
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
The only time these algorithms make sense is if the output must be completely indistinguishable from noise that "superficially resembles a thing" -- at which point a noise algorithm is exponentially cheaper and a bespoke procedural generator cheaper and better still.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
We are undoing the computer revolution made possible by people like Douglas Engelbart and Ted Nelson. We are deciding instead of paying for studies which would improve the computer and produce enormous gains for everybody we are defunding users for a glorified coin-flipper worse than any human.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
The most average of human design is already fairly problematic in terms of not wasting human time. Handing it to a machine can only be worse. It can only waste exponentially more untold billions of human hours.

Even in the 5% of "vaguely useful" outcomes: How many inefficient "common nonsense" decisions is AI going to make that cost human time and decimate profit, outcomes and workers? That measly 5% still isn't actually any good. Its 95% shit. 5% "technically edible" shit 100% wasteful
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
It only copies patterns based on statistics It does not copy effective choices or make them It approximates "the style" of a thing statistically It is the common (non)sense fallacy incarnate: If bad things appear more often than good things, the bad things must be gooderer.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
AI can only approximate the shape of things. It cannot actually make them, because the act of making them requires not only an understanding of the task for a human creator and their task intent
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
This is one of the reasons I can't stand AI. Its literally public enemy #1. It is not a tool: It is an end. You do not gain a better understanding of the craft, and so steering towards better results is impossible. Inventing new good solutions is VERY impossible.
Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social) reply parent
The enemies of workflow are: 1. Task dissociation (forgetting or not knowing your connection to the output, collapses agency & learning) 2. Task delay (time spent waiting for things to happen) 3. Task holes (mental energy and time subtracted from task planning used incorrectly on poor design)

Osaka/bun (@osakanone.bsky.social)
I wonder how many billions of human hours are wasted because of interfaces trying to be friendly instead of effective? Because some designer only thought of initial users and not long-term users? Users who would like to accomplish effective work in as few clicks and presses as rapidly as possible?
