$2500 isn't bad at all for that, honestly. Mileage is a little high, but it's a Honda so it'll go six digits easy. It looks like a really solid buy from here (I've been riding 25 years, I restore old Japanese bikes from the 70s, and I used to run a motorcycle publication).
Also, I know you've been riding for a few years and you had that Enfield, but have you shopped used bikes before? Would you be interested in a couple used bike buying tips?
Ofc!!
When you go see it, ask the owner to see a cold start (POs can hide a lot of issues behind a warm engine). Check the date on the tires - even tires with good tread and mold-release whiskers can be 20 years old and hard as rocks...
Have the owner put it on the center stand or a jack and spin the rear tire to check out how the chain moves. Look for stuck links. Have a look at the control cables to make sure the outsides aren't cracked or worn through. Make sure the control levers move freely.
It doesn’t have a chain! But this is all great advice
Oh, wait, is this one a shaftie? You're golden, then!
Yes!! I’ve read a lot of people saying it’s super low maintenance with low likelihood of issues
All but one of my bikes are shaft drive and they rule. They sometimes act a little weird due to how the rotational forces act (my Yamaha triples like to sit up when leaned over if you get on the throttle, for example) but otherwise they rule.
I think I’m sollllld
Honestly, this thing is a Honda and even in bad shape it's bullet proof. You really can't go wrong with this one. Oh, and look at the lower engine cases, the ends of the handlebars, and any other bits that kinda stick out for scuffs or damage - evidence of it having been dropped/crashed.
