Sadly, I think, republicans in Congress are more likely to just stop having town halls and unplug their office phones. It is worth noting, that I never thought in 1 million years I would see one of the hosts of Shark Tank praising Bernie Sanders. That’s unity. If only it had been Bernie in 2020.

I disagree. I think it had more to do with the 10,000 conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton decades in the making. Most Bernie supporters did vote for Hillary Clinton. She actually got more votes against Trump than Trump got against Harris. Bit of a mindfuck there.

Another thing is a lot of people that were supporting. Bernie Sanders only started engaging in politics because of Bernie Sanders. I knew lifelong green party people who boycotted the Democratic Party who registered as Democrat for the first time in their lives to vote for sanders.

Believe it or not, there are quite a few socialists in the United States. And essentially, those guys with the anarchist T-shirts were willing to vote for sanders, but not a mainstream Democrat. Plus, making a few campaigns stops in Wisconsin would’ve helped Hillary a great deal.

It was slightly more complicated. We literally had no other option. It would’ve been a PR nightmare to sideline the vice president after Biden dropped. And yes, the reason it would’ve been a nightmare is because she’s the first black female, vice president and sidelining her would’ve looked horrible

Oh sorry, I didn’t understand the context. I thought you were saying the reason why we nominated her was solely because she’s a black woman. personally, I think the reason why she lost was because she only had 150 days when Trump has been gaslighting America for 10 years.

Meh. I don’t think that’s a good idea. The US is so messed up that a clearly mentally ill person could hijack the entire country simply because he’s the richest man in the world. I don’t see the opposition to that voting for a multibillionaire. Still could be a power player in the donor circles.

I agree, the part of me that wants to win thinks it's an interesting idea, but I don't think it would be worth the price. It's also extremely early to even consider throwing support behind anyone for 2028.

Senators don’t, tend to do town halls as much as representatives. The shorter term compels reps to campaign more often. If senators ever do town halls, it’s around their reelection. But yeah, it’s Congress that we need to get off their asses and control the purse strings of the US government.

Some Senators take their jobs serious. Senator Wyden does. He has held 1092 meetings where he refrains from speeches, listens to the concerns of Oregonians, and answers questions. Senator Sanders does. Senator Warren does. Senator Merkley does.

So the democrats should be going to these districts and holding events so people can ask their questions and voice their concerns. They don’t need the republicans there to tell everyone what the republicans are doing.

IMO Bernie would never have won in 2016, but let’s move on and stop relitigating the past. Maybe it’s sufficient to say “If only Russia hadn’t interfered in the 2016 election we wouldn’t be where we are now.” Or, “If only Fox News didn’t misinform Americans.”

He could have maybe in 2016. The label of socialist vs 10,000 bull shit conspiracy theories decades in the making. He definitely would’ve in 2020 and if he pursued his agenda, used the pandemic too justify implementing healthcare reform, was publicly contentious with Netanyahu, he would’ve won 2024.

I don’t think what I think about 2016 just because I’m 1000% Bernie bro. And forgive me I’m not trying to argue. It’s just you shared your opinion and I’m sharing mine. Pulling data has shown that people who voted for Hillary would vote for any Democrat over Donald Trump. So it stands to reckon…

that he would’ve won most of if not all the exact same states as Hillary Clinton but with the addition of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. He was popular in Michigan and Wisconsin. And unfortunately, Hillary didn’t campaign in Wisconsin as much as she could have. Plus, no Jill Stein.

Then you show up at their town congressional office and if they still won’t talk, start a recall on them, like George Santos. You have the power, but you let it go and they’re not listening to you now, you had the chance to get rid of the do nothings or obstructers.

Recall laws are different in each state. I’m in California where we have recall. But a lot of red states do not have this kind of direct democracy. Florida doesn’t have any.

They do if everyone showed up at their door, at their Congressional office in their states. Let them know, make their decision to follow Trump blindly and not protect you, who voted them into that office that they could follow blindly.
