A lot of those 80s movies were Fd up racist, homophobic and women in cages was no big D on MTV. Not sure why he couldn't have just said "love is love"... Fried by 80s culture, his brain can't accept normal, ho hum queers who don't fit the murderous transvestite stereotype.

I remember watching Girls on Film by Duran Duran with my fellow 90s enlightened college friends--we all loved DD when we were younger. We were all rather horrified by some racist and sexist shit in the video that hadn't jumped out during the 80s.

I loved me some DD too! It's funny isn't looking back on a lot of that stuff and the casually placed horrifying stuff. Re Snoop I'm thinking really, you're a major celebrity yet have zero gay friends w kids? Or, do u avoid them bc "scary"? Don't drag your nephew into your homophobia.

I saw Duran Duran before they were really on the radio yet open for Til Tuesday in like 1986. They were announced as "the next Beatles" I was like who r these f-ing joksters where's Aimee Mann? But they were of course great.

All due respect...they were selling out huge stadiums in 1984. I know because I attended Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, at the time the biggest venue. Are you sure you didn't see them earlier?

Oh interesting must be b4? It was when TT was very big so was thinking 86 but I could be wrong. They were the opener in a small city, def not stadium level yet.
