Two weeks from the Too Weak President.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah that's true... it was hard to tell anything from those sat pictures. I've not seen anything else except a report that Russia was saying the attack was Neptune missiles. I see what you are saying now. ๐
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Must be Melania then.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
It's hard to keep up, but must be this week haha
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
You -> "Were the flamingos... intercepted?" Me -> " ... struck Armiansk" You -> "I know..." ๐
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
His ear looks OK, ironically. The rest of him... not so good.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Tbh, if this is genuinely from the USA then it will be at Putin's request. Therefore, my best guess is, Putin is trying to get the west to push India and China closer to Russia.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
There's damage reports from their strike on Armiansk, a barracks and 6 hovercraft damaged.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
I agree with what you are doing with rail, but EU antitrust laws are working to encourage competition. Wouldn't an "independent Scotland in Europe" - I assume you mean the EU - be subject to privatisation of railways, at least to some degree? competition-policy.ec.europa.eu/sectors/tran...

Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Indeed, and certainly not "trillions". What a buffoon.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely. Panic buying is a very powerful problem. People will queue and drain petrol stations even where there is plentiful supply.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Ah, but it is such a small step from where your logic is to realise that people going against their human good nature and natural empathy is what causes their pain, conflict and turmoil. Go and follow the happiness training at the Greater Good Science Centre. They don't reject religion.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
It really isn't. Unless you have a mind full of religious lies.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
This is the truth.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Then you are very foolish indeed. Have you, by any chance, had you mind polluted with religious horse shit? Head over to "The Greater Good Science Center" at Berkeley University. It is all scientifically proven. Doing the right thing is second nature. But you won't because of yoursuperstitions.

Russia's strategic reserve nearly exhausted. Don't know exactly without searching. Businesses forced to take on unsustainable levels of debt to stay operational & banks forced to give them low interest rates. Public services slashed. A house of cards, but no one knows when it will fall.

I don't believe Russia and USA, both in the mess they are currently in, can effectively band together to out do the whole of Europe. Not in the end. I think France and the UK could defeat them alone, without the rest of Europe. It is still complicated and we are still scared of our shadows, true.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Whilst I fear this too...but, ultimately, Russia and the USA have sown the seeds of their own failure.

Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Totally agree. Also, Zelenskyy went to the USA, wore a suit, and played the same flattery game as the other European leaders. The USA is losing its hegemony to the EU due to Trump's inability to use diplomacy. Rearming Europe is USA's loss ๐คทโโ๏ธ. Original article is BS opinion piece.

They can't mathematically. To gerrymander, they need to concentrate a lot of democratic votes together in few districts. The rest of the democratic votes get spread in safe Republican districts. I feel that, with all the statelites, recon drones and western help, like the British Rivet Joint flying recon missions over the Black Sea, that they know everything the Russians are doing. Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, I know that is true. You can probably find old articles on the BBC about it, even. I remember some documentary, possibly it also implied that that Ukraine was starving seniors in the Donbass. We fell for it, even when Crimera was stolen. I am so sorry. But attitudes changed with the full...
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
The article you quote fails to mention the drop in overall fossiles exported to EU. I understand your frustration and apologise the west is not doing enough. Theere is Western pressure. Support is here, but we must do more. It is wrong for you to make statements inferring we are on Russia's side.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
That's not even remotely true. The pressure on Russia has been there from the west. The west shut down Russian banking ffs. China opened it up again. US is a disgrace, but the western sanctions do not amount to "no pressure". Putin has an ICC arrest warrant. There is pressure.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
True. It's a slow change over, unfortunately, due to supply side issues, but it will be sorted.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
It's the small acts that make all the difference in the world. Just do what you can to help people you meet.

Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
So, erm, adjusting your position to match what the voting public want always strikes me as what our leaders should do. But it is always criticised. You might be right - just my observation.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
I remember when the west detected that a Russian submarine had sunk and offered to save the Russian sailors - we had a specific submersible built just for it. Putin denied the sub had sunk until it was too late and let the sailors die. There an excellent video of Thatcher talking about it
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
The way Europe is ramping up military production, I believe that it will. Unfortunately we became complacent and are having to build new factories and warehouses. We are already outstripping US military production, with a great deal more in the pipeline.

Trump just speaks randomly. His words do not match his actions nor the last thing he said. He doesn't have the intelligence to realise that he is condemning his own inaction in these words.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent
More fuel losses for Russia. BTW, it's "burned out", or "burnt-out". "Burned down" implies a loss of height like "the house burned down", and there is nothing left. If a shell or structure remains it is correct to say "burned out". "The house was burned out" means the walls are still standing.
Nic Abbott (@profpuzzlecode.bsky.social) reply parent

Trump completed 4 miles of new border fence on a 2000 mile long border with Mexico. He also upgraded a lot of existing fence - most of the border remains open and a large section is covered by a first nations reservation and cannot be closed. About 42% of illegal aliens simply outstay their visa.
