We should stop calling it the GOP. That party doesn’t exist any longer. It’s now MAGA, built around the conceits, behavior, and misdeeds of one man. I long for the days when I could argue with, but respect, the real GOP.

Totally agree, I didn’t intend to compare them, just that Trump saw an event that is legitimate and turned it into something about him. As usual.
An interesting take on an event we know Trump has been hankering for since he saw one in France during his first term, and his known desire to be like Putin and Kim Jong Un. Journalists need to be vigilant about not normalizing these actions, this one seems to have let her guard down.
I found this article to be strangely devoid of Kennedy’s use of made up facts and disinformation. It actually made me wonder if the magazine is going the way of so many other frightened outlets.
