A VPN to the UK could let you access the full Sounds website, and maybe make the app work again too. Some VPNs are blocked by the BBC, so you might need to try several to find one that works; I've seen NordVPN or Mullvad being recommended

The drama programmes are under Society & Culture: scroll down to All titles and you should see Limelight there, for example. The search function is on the 'More' tab, there's a search bar at the top, but it includes all the news articles so not great; adding 'podcast' to a search might help

I'm on Android, yes, and I think the Playstore uses purely the account location now. I used to be able to VPN to another country to install a geolocked app, but not anymore. For you, a VPN to the UK, or roaming mobile data connection, might let you reinstall Sounds as necessary

One quirk to watch out for: in the UK, TuneIn does not offer the BBC stations (by request of the BBC, so that people will use Sounds instead); if you have a VPN running, and try to listen with TuneIn, it won't work.

TuneIn should work, or you can still listen live to the BBC stations via links on the info/FAQ page below, without a VPN. You would need a VPN for some live content, eg sports commentary which is UK-only, and to listen on-demand to most programmes after broadcast www.bbc.com/future/artic...

The Sounds app will probably shut down again in a few weeks, but you can repeat reinstalling it. Or if you have a UK mobile SIM, use roaming mobile data on that and run the Sounds app briefly every few weeks over it to reset the Sounds "seen-in-UK" timer; less trouble than reinstalling it.
Ronan Flood (@r-p-f.bsky.social) reply parent
As far as I know, the only place the BBC app is not available is the UK, which suggests that your appstore account is indeed set to UK. Try my suggestion of reinstalling the Sounds app, you should be able to see it in your appstore.
