My original point still stands—we can’t tear down Democratic candidates we don’t like. You can say, “I don’t like Pete because he wasn’t able to address racial tensions or didn’t have great ideas on addressing the homeless issue in South Bend. I support X because I think they are better record.
I supported Bernie in 2020 until it was clear he wasn’t going to the nominee. Then I switched to Biden—not my first choice. In America, you support the closest candidate to your position. Seeking perfection will lead to electoral defeat.

Clearly Pete has challenges reaching black voters. That’s good enough reason for me to not support him in the primary. But calling him anti-Black is playing right into the hands of the actual right-wing. You are just proving ammunition for the right to spread misinformation.
Tension between mostly White cops and the Black community in South Bend predates Pete’s time as mayor. It’s fair to say he failed to address it and you can choose not to support him for that—but that doesn’t make him anti-Black.
