The argument is not that NYT readership is pro-Trump, the argument is that NYT uses it’s agenda setting power to downplay things that it could highlight, with downstream effects in how things are framed in other media that *does* reach lower income people that vote for Trump.

Lastly, and less importantly but still noteworthy, Pritzker has taken to attacking pundits on the regular. It's what Obama did too. This is a kind of soft-populism; no one likes pundits, as a class, even tho many people like individual pundits. It's a more D-voter-friendly way of attacking media.
