Back in the late 80s, I was going to visit some friends who had recently moved to Denver. They told me I should bring an extra (empty) suitcase. They took me to Tattered Cover. They were right. What a great bookstore!

We have a shelter cat that we adopted when she was about 5. One of the things that attracted us to her was that she’d been in the shelter about 6 months. She pretty much claimed my husband when she saw him. She’s about 17 now and is head cat in the household.

age matches a different part of a character’s life, I feel the character differently. Some of the re-reads have let me notice the little “Easter eggs” and foreshadowings I didn’t notice the first time. And some have shown me a nuance from the author I was too caught in the plot to see before.
