I’ve felt for a while that the internet has been weaponized and needs to be treated with the same caution, training, and education as other weapons.
I know the focus today is on "the numbers." But lemme share a feeling: I'm worried. The economy was in a good place in late 2024. That's no longer true. And the trajectory is, at a minimum, concerning. That's millions of peoples lives, and millions of stories of pain.
This all has been so hard on Guard members. At the MN State Fair, the people manning their booth fielded SO MANY QUESTIONS about ICE raids. He’s putting them into an impossible position, and wrecking branding and goodwill it took decades to build.

I like this take. When I left FB (17 y/o acct), my feed was AI slop, memes, and ads. I had to actively search for people I wanted updates on. I'm not sure anymore that the reach people seem to enjoy there is real vs bots/AI generated content, but hopefully they have metrics that indicate otherwise.

June 1st was a Sunday, so they made June payments at the end of May. This happens ~2 times per year. We've ran a monthly surplus (which is a cash based figure, not accrual based) during these odd months for several years under several presidents because of... payment timing.
