I guess the bigger question is what would happen to the Florida economy if Disney left the state completely, and expanded the Disney in California? How much will tourism change for Orlando, for example?
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
FYI, Selena Gomez is also a billionaire. Not sure of the others, but perhaps, they can pool resources and really make Meta pay for this.

I’m not a lawyer, but wouldn’t Abrego Garcia have the rights to sue the U.S. government for wrongful imprisonment, defamation, and maybe even human trafficking? 🤷♂️ He was moved to another country w/o his knowledge or permission under false pretenses…
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
FWIW, Hakeem Jeffries’ largest donor is AIPAC, a big PAC supporting Israel. Mamdani criticized Israel’s military activity in Gaza and spoke for human rights for Gazans. Should Jefferies openly support Mamdani, he will likely lose that financial support.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
One has to wonder if Biden was protecting people on that list, too. Besides, it was Marrick Garland who would have gone after Trump during that time, and it was obvious he didn’t want to (for anything).

A 13 year old victim has named Trump & Epstein, specifically, in a California lawsuit just weeks before the 2016 elections. She dropped the case due to death threats.

Good. U.S. tariffs on Canada are paid by U.S. companies and consumers. Canadians have focused more on buying Canadian, then non-U.S. goods. If Canadian companies really need to import U.S. goods, it’ll be better for those companies.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
More like fascism… Communism = the state is more important than its citizens. Fascism = government controls everything for its own purposes. On a side note… Socialism = people helping people, i.e., wealthy pay higher taxes so no one is left behind.

What happened to HIPAA? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I might be mistaken, but when Rubio ran for the GOP nom in 2016, didn’t he consistently say that Russia was a dangerous player on the world stage? What happened to that Marco? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Good luck! FWIW, here is my proposed plans A & B: Plan A: President Trump openly supports Ukraine joining NATO, ASAP. Furthermore, unless Russia withdraws by day’s end, invoke NATO Article V on Ukraine’s behalf. Plan B: EU gives the €300B in seized Russian assets to Ukraine for defense.

From U.S. news, we didn’t hear if Trump gave Alaska to Russia (or not). Any news of this kind from your end? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
At least he didn’t give Alaska to Russia (as far as we know). Though, when Trump left Anchorage, he did say he was “flying to the U.S.”. 🤷♂️

I believe you meant “progressive”, rather than “performative”. Mamdani is much more progressive than the Dem party including Jefferies which is, I believe, what most voters want.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m a Canadian, so no real say in this. Perhaps, Mamdani has a friend with similar views in Jeffries’ district? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Didn’t Alaska vote for Trump last year? Why are they protesting this now? 🤷♂️ Perhaps they should have done their due diligence to prevent Trump from winning instead of helping him. #electionsmatter

Canada is a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Should Putin (or Bibi) land there, Canadian officials are mandated to arrest them. Maybe the Premier of B.C. can find a reason to invite them there for something? Anything? 🤷♂️

Uhh… they don’t. “International treaties” are treaties (or “deals”) between nations or countries. Ecuador is a country. The United States is another country.

Maybe he’ll ride his horse, shirtless, again? Private plane seems more likely, though.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
True… Canada is, though. Think Putin would like to visit Banff? 🤷♂️⛓️💥
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Siri: Tell them to visit nearby Canada. Canada, unlike the United States, is a member of the International Criminal Court, and would be required to arrest Vladimir Putin should he visit there.

I thought that, by law, redistricting/gerrymandering is based on demographics every ten years, i.e., 2020, then 2030. Has the law changed? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Ecuador, as far as I know, does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. This is where Julian Assange (Wikileaks) stayed for a time.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m not sure if this is the same “Kate”, but this “Kate” was abducted as a 13 year old and sued Epstein and Trump, by name, in 2016. She stopped her suit due to death threats. Here is a video with her testimony (tough to watch)… www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnib...
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
So, postponed until 2027, depending on what happens with Congress, I guess? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
“Hopeful for a resolution”… My guess is the “resolution” will not happen until at least January 20th, 2029.

If Trump is frustrated with all this, and he has nothing to hide, why not simply allow Bondi to release the files? The “Access Hollywood” tape came out before Trump 1.0, and his supporters stayed with him then. Why wouldn’t they now if his name is all over these files? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m Canadian, so not a voter - hypothetically, if the Dems take over Congress next year, they could compel the AG (and others) to testify under oath, right? And if the Senate flips, then how judges are appointed will change? Thx!

That security camera footage of Epstein’s prison block (with those 3 minutes missing) didn’t help their case much.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m confused. Trump recently said the Dems were behind the Epstein files. If that was the case, couldn’t these files have been unsealed while President Biden was in office? 🤷♂️
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
So? If his approval rating was 0% or 100%, nothing would change. He’ll likely be re-appointed to a third term regardless.

Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Any idea where we can find the original footage to see what happened during that time? Wouldn’t the prison have it? Any FOIA requests out there to find out? I’m by no means a conspiracy theorist, but why wouldn’t the FBI just show the original footage? 🤷♂️

I guess the silver lining is that there might be elections in the future, after all. I don’t know what the betting markets say, but I’m guessing there’s only a 30% chance there will be midterms next year. I had it at 26% before the Church/IRS news.

Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
Hence, the “if…” in my original post. Oilers/Flames, Indigenous peoples, currency, national parks, roads & jobs, requiring trade deals, etc… All reasons that need to be considered and addressed IF Albertans wish to separate. I’m sure there are many more.
Steve Cochrane (@scochrane.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m from Montreal, I live in Spain, and visited Calgary & Edmonton many years ago. If Alberta separates from Canada, what happens to the Oilers & Flames? 🤷♂️ They would need “Albertan” passports and treaties would be required for travel and work purposes to Canada, the U.S. & elsewhere.
