Looking at the back of Mt Mawson, Mt Field NP, yesterday. Now we're on the boat back to the mainland and I'd rather not be🫤

Why bother privatising/ selling Aunty, as the LNP have said they'd love to do, when you can have the taxpayer pay for #NewsCorpse riff-raff to do #Merde_och's bidding under the guise of public broadcasting

Nice backdrop for what was a quiet day. No great adventure instead catching up with my mum's youngest and only remaining cousin in town. One last dash to the wilderness tomorrow on fungi and big tree hunt before heading back to the mainland on Monday night.

We went and chased some down at Hartz Mountain NP today. Settled for a short trek through the myrtle forest to Lake Osborne. Hartz Peak and Snowy South will have to wait for another day when the weather is more clement. Light snow showers while we walked added to the magic of being there.

70 yrs after Asimov conceived the necessity of "laws of robotics" to protect humanity from AI we've allowed a bunch of highly flawed tech billionaires with, as Ben Elton once penned, "the social conscience of a dog caught short on a croquet lawn", to ride roughshod over any ethical concern because?

We only require relatively small amounts of replacement protein and the excess protein is used as a poor energy source stressing livers & kidneys. It's just more consumerist bs and a shortcut to kidney stones, gout and arthritis. As usual, it's the environment suffering the most from protein greed

Stems do the work. Like the phyllodes that serve as leaves on many Acacia sp., Casuarinaceae sp. rarely exhibit true leaves. When they do, they are a round, short-lived & vestigial appendage no more than 2mm. I have photographed such leaves on seedling Casuarina cunninghamiana once in 40 years

This was never about courageous self-expression. This, like paisley body shirts, was part of a deeper conspiracy to create a necessity for male deodorant products by popularising bacterial-harbouring BO-infused synthetic fabrics culminating in clinging Lycra & the omnipresent sweat bands of the 80s
