No, no, no. The ministerial order is just written that way for…reasons. We all KNOW what’s supposed to be banned…just the “weird” stuff (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). But we OBVIOUSLY can’t SAY that in the order or we’ll end up in court…notwithstanding clause…yadda yadda...
Labour Day. It’s Labour Day. “Alberta Day” is a UCP invention, and is only a long weekend because it coincides with Labour Day.

Was this in the forefront of your mind when the Minister of Jobs took the side of Air Canada and ordered flight attendants back to work?
Can someone unpack this distinction between spending “in the classroom” as opposed to teacher salaries? Are teachers not also “in the classroom?” Why the implication that $ spent on teachers does not benefit students? Or do we value paper and pens more than the skilled teachers?

Agree completely. My issue, again, is that slapping a label on someone *isn’t* analysis. It pigeonholes people, and short-circuits what could be useful discussion, turning it into shouting match worthy of a school playground. We can do so much better.

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/
People already “in the market” do not face the same barriers to entry as first time buyers. I don’t see how this would do anything to increase supply, let alone reduce the price of entry.

I completely disagree. Parks Canada was the lead agency, and their timeline indicates they were working with Alberta Wildfire and AEMA on Jul 23, <24 hours after the fires started and evacuations were ordered. AB requested assistance from GoC Jul 24, the same day the fires reached the town.
