Better schools attract better teachers, a child is less likely to be influenced by some other garbage parent's kid, there's more funding for extracurricular activities that keep kids busy. Non-garbage parents also work long hours, like most other ppl = less time w/kds

I think they're getting burned in every court across the US. Aside from illegal conduct, they don't seem to understand that judges don't like having their orders disregarded. In every case, he badmouths judges and their families. Why would any judge rule in his favor?
Either party may appeal. It would go to the Court of Appeals. If the Govt hasn't won, they have the option to either go with the ruling of the lower court or ask SCOYUS to hear the case.
