A few additions for the ol' library and the ever growing kit pile. Most money went to the Talisman stand but came away with some nifty coach and engine accessories that I'm hoping will be Gauge 3 compatible.....now to do some actual modelling 😅 (7/7)
The last one is the Coach & Wagon Works' Talyllyn Railway No.24 bogie nicely showing off the Standard, 1st Class and Saloon compartments.
Not sure of the origin for this Corris coach build but very impressed by the finish.
Great Western chocolate & cream has never much appealed so this variant caught my eye and do like balcony stock in general so the Europeans on the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway is always an interesting facet.....must work some into the MSR and/or SR somehow 😅

Nice diagram drawing plan of a L&Y L&YR Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 27 class with a Hughes smokebox and Belpaire firebox. The No. displayed would make it of Lot 6 and entered service in June 1891, but the Aspinall loco doesn't seem to have actually been rebuilt! www.facebook.com/groups/17933...
The 4F rebuild for James is a popular so thought I'd try something akin to it on my old 29 Class edit. It's actually only 1" thicker, but with not wanting to lessen his steam reserve stuck to the Hughes length. Gotta say the 2 rings plus the firebox length increased to 7' does give a more RWS look 😎
nothing specific is eluded to continued on with the 8 rescues & the 5-6 'standards' mentioned in a letter when Great Little Engines was in its draft form. Some of the MSRs can bulk out the guard shortfall but the new bogies or mayhap 4-wheelers seem the best for disabled accommodation. Any thoughts?

This had passed me by but a new book on the R&CR titled 'Four Foot Gauge : The Story of the Redruth & Chasewater Railway' came out last year. Looks like it has some quality photos of the Neilson box tanks as well as other well presented pieces on its history. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22677476...
Seems we missed the passing of Edgar Hodges but he sure as hell left behind many great stand alone pieces as well as several submissions for various franchises that of course included The Railway Series. Some will have seen these already but have edited a few pieces of his work over the years.
While on holiday, I decided to test correcting the colours while with using Sleeper Agent's scans of Thomas the Tank Engine and see how Payne's work would've looked.
Shame it came out in Supe's wake as like you say isn't as 'big', but there's a lot to like as well such Julia Garner & Vanessa Kirby's turns as Silver Surfer & Sue. An 1899 article from 'The Locomotive Magazine' on Edward's Dutch sisters. Not been able re-find the extract for some time now but Pettigrew's smaller design provided by Sharp Stewart in 1901 were similarly capable of cracking 70mph on the few favourable sections of the Furness Railway network.

The 2-4-2 is a pretty rare beast in any gauge so it's remarkable to find one as an earnest freelance suggestion for the UK's increasing train loads. From the February 1899 issue of The Locomotive Magazine, Ivatt having introduced his Atlantic prototype to Britain the previous June.
Always enjoy a tender swap and this one is new to me. Interesting the GNR loaner got a full repaint.

Had a great time at Awdry Ex yesterday. Finally got a chance to run my Thomas model on the Ffarquhar layout.
Just about anything can be headcanoned very much like Awdry sneaked in his beloved Bloomer model, albeit in a pretty lazy way. Ultimately consider a GNR single too separate from the late NWR to make sense compared to a more localised railway like the Padarn's stashed loco, but you can hoop jump it.

Ah good timing! Going back many years now but think I was on poor health & just trying to make a run for the door....can't recall if it did the pre-screech thing. Not sure if it was down to health but the cockroaches on Res 2 once instant killed as well via an enveloping swam, hadn't saved for ages!
Still pissed off 1 leapt across the balcony of the dining room, glitched slid across the wall while descending & instant killed. Was in pure disbelief as Jill fell to the homing missile attack! Didn't know Yawn (1st encounter at least) could instant kill you via constriction for a long time either.
Awdry made sure his RWS stories were based on real events, but for some reason this one never made the cut.

the K think this is worth baring in mind for the Co involved with transporting dense lead amongst other general goods & in time a respectable passenger clientele. If anyone has additional images for the above engines I would be grateful to add them. Gotta say the round tanks make for a neat variant.

Scotby/Silkstone is an interesting engine as several overhauls allowed to outlive most of the other builds from this era.
White denotes Class K Red denotes Class M Blue denotes Class N Yellow denotes Old I Purple is for the rest as well as variant stats such as alternative driver diameters. Build dates vs when they were dispatched creates a few hiccups but have gone with the Works No order.
Think most people have the Class K or the M in mind for the Wellsworth & Suddery Railway Manning Wardle pair, but what would they actually have looked like? Ex-works condition photos are few and far between but here's a list of those dispatched between 1868-72 with a few variants on top. (1/7)

Ah the plug I caught sight of a while back was just a concept trailer. Checking about seems Cameron's got a bigger overseeing than I thought and of course the Avatars are hogging up his time but otherwise does seem there's still a reasonable level of hope.
With a few exceptions I'm not sure the critique is entirely fair as different online accounts tend to be biased to interest x & don't show the person as a whole. I.e I can get decent reaction via an easy train face edit, but if I try to talk about music or something else unrelated it'll land flat.

A solid starting point 👍 Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are the obvious others but of the older Ghiblis I'd have Valley of the Wind on my short list followed in no order by Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service and Porco Rosso. Ponyo is on the more kiddish side but fun, colourful & sweet.
