lol - we can work together if you work for us?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
they can never coexist in one party and there will be division and splits a plenty as they welcome in people who alienate the others - there is space for at least 7 or 8 parties in that area
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
If it was T20 it would have been considered poor
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Good luck on the weekend George - as a non runner I'll be flying around the borders on a bike at the wonderful tourotheborders.com taking advantage of the international break!! Hoping for dry but cool obviously and that you get a tail wind to the finish
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean stable is one thing - my neck hurts from leaning over to view it
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
it will be fairly quickly once they agree who has to invite the other one to join them which should take a swift decade or two
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
It's currently unclear if the Corbyn party actually has any formal members and voting is between the 2 who set it up - it's not being "clever" just it's not actually sorted out what it is or isn't yet
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
That would be the case if he wasn't projecting such a strong vision - which way he wants to take it will challenge consensus building there
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Except you don't sign Donnarumma for the short term - all may change if Pep leaves of course - we basically offered him the chance to grow into it - anyway lets not get dragged into specifics - it was literally a throw away GK idea but would still love to get him
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
well that is something that has never happened
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Value or the right keeper - worth a look given what they have just done to him. The lad is 22 - good chance he will be England No1 for 8-10 years and would be a buy that would see that positions sorted for that long - playing with England defenders too - worth keeping tabs on
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Contract extensions for key players, maybe a striker in Jan + injury cover if needed Summer GK decision - see how Trafford feels? CM Depth Nothing drastic with the age reduction we just achieved though
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
roughly - he apparently offered hypnosis to help ladies get bigger boobs, but didn't charge as nobody booked it - so it's all ok? and he may or may not regret it
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
they had multiple personalities each with a vote? Do they have members yet or just expressions of interest to join a mailing list?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Corbyn/Sultana can pick up the ones who split from the greens and vice versa
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
He will do very will among people who can't or don't vote
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
lol it's going to be opportunistic and following the wind as far as I read it so watch this space
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Given the aim to reduce the backlog created by the previous gov refusing to process anyone as great as that idea is by the time they are designed, constructed and opened they wouldn't be any use - it just becomes part of the ongoing housebuilding process - you remove hotels by processing claims
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
They will have SM Managers/agents etc. many will likely have some sort of auto like on teammates/club etc. it happens when you post something in certain locations etc. too so I take it SM is a fake layer of fake/performative reactions dethatched from players at times
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Given we seem to have scoured every league around not sure there was value without a lot more risk. Prices went mad once the Isak situation started.
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Newcastle are not allowed to spend more than Liverpool it's in the rules, it's why Liverpool wanted a super league, it's why they love the PSR regs etc. it keeps them on top and the challengers slowed down. The model doesn't work if the league is too competitive does it
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I can accept going over on Wissa as he is the here and now, a necessity really and hopefully rewards us - the others should be here long enough to cover any extra we spent there
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I hope we put a buy back option in the deal - just to tell him no
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
A Massive Bag of Cash?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
when the only person still supporting you in football is Michael Owen it's time to think you set fire to a few too many bridges
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Simply put Twitter pays it's big hitters too much for them to step away - Bluesky doesn't reward the hate if you have no real content behind it
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
it's growing on me, though upset we don't have last years away for another season - can't quite get behind the Green ones though
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I guess the people who had to try and deal with the mess he created and his shit for the summer probably had to be stopped from writing it. The guy went off on strike, abandoned his team mates, sold out his manager etc. soon to be forgotten from our history
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
do you prefer a bitchy instagram?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
bit too long for my liking
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Yep time to move on, hope he bins off Liverpool when a big club come calling in the same beautiful way. If you are still wondering what went wrong it was most likely a massive bag of cash dangled in his face.
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Did you get the deal sheet in for the schedule change?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
The hit on telling Liverpool to do one - obviously Isak forced it to this point with certainty Liverpool would come rescue him - by the sounds of the structure Isak had to give up a decent chunk of cash to get out too. Market value however would have been selling next summer
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
With hopefully some of them coming from the academy
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
almost certainly lots of time to improve - the fact our entire pre season was spent trying to figure out plan B hasn't really helped that - a lot more pressure on him without a striker on the pitch
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I'll keep any judgement on Elanga until he gets to play alongside a genuine centre forward!!
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
any outgoings might be to somewhere with a longer window right now unless somebody is in transit we don't know about - the only one I might let go now is Lascells - Willock can't go without a replacement
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Plan A would have been amazing with somebody to challenge and push Isak for one more season before losing him to Spain - but the manoeuvring to get all this over the line is great and looking at the depth in each position I feel a lot better - and some time before Wolves to get sorted out
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Feels a lot better than it did sat at Celtic Park at half time, overall process certainly 3/10 but a solid 7-8/10 for withstanding an almost daily speculation and sulking assault and some fast pivots to good players in the end - feels like some hard yards were put in last week
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
They would in fact not - people just get over the change thing and move on - the people who can't get Linux
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I've said it elsewhere we can't give Osula what he needs to be what we want at the club this year - he needs to go and play football for his own sake right now
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
buy back seems to have been discovered
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
My Osula comment has just aged perfectly
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
feeling his muscles in his first game out!!
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I think the bit about clawing back bonus stuff etc. was the mitigation for that - making him take the hit
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
In the end Liverpool pay more than they wanted, we keep him out of action all summer and have decent replacements in who want to be there - obviously there was a point of no return in there
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
that aged well!! (just some light hearted fun there) Feeling like there might be one more in and Osula getting a loan move
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I genuinely think the team who have landed all the players have looked that up and had conversations - min for me is a proven PL player to start strong and then we can have the others around them - 100m Euro release for Samu is a big gamble -especially if we get 1 more and Jan options
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
human cloning taking a bit longer to get working here - you can't find what isn't there
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
are there any?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
yeah but when he has sat on his own through all of your pre season and says he Only Wants Madrid you can't keep him prisoner - just accept what they offer and know your place
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Can't see him starting there unless all their other strikers get sold - be much better for him to go somewhere he gets lots of game time on loan
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Conceded 6 in 4 competitive games, anyway they have at least paid close to the right amount, hope he goes on strike when Madrid come calling
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm assuming Palace are about to up the price to £50m?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Imodium can
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
yeah but how many houses does she have?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
very true - despite being a Newcastle fan I hop this isn't a Leeds moment, a victory for the superleague 6 at this point
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I'd be very worried as a Villa fan right now
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
if you have to explain the joke to somebody then it's really not worth talking to them again
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
oh dear, just oh dear.....
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
www.facebook.com/watch/?v=617... if only this was the first time Arsenal had blamed the ball
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Palace will finish above Man Utd and Villa this season
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Like any Faux Outrage it goes around the comfort of their own bubble before anyone checks
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
thing is it's not, it's all an act, they don't believe any of it but as they play the character it pays well - is it much different to being in a soap these days?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
To be fair the idea when she became an MP she was on the fast track to be anything other than back bencher and nobody would check etc. means it's easy to think why you would get away with it
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Stamford went to a different school?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Can you do her in Dougie Howzer MD?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Hey it's not green like this without the rain - but I would have liked another week of sunshine here
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
It Must Be the Ball....
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
He is using his crafty face
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
spot on, and what they really need right now are defenders
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
It Must Be the Ball
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
and that tweet just paid then a few hundred quid - wonder why they keep posting shite
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
He simply can - we didn't do it properly/hard enough/oh look some migrants - when the majority of the print media backed and still backs brexit it doesn't work. The way out is through delivery - part of that is actually getting the asylum system under some sort of control
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
and moving to join etc. at this point will deliver nothing before 2029 - it delivers nothing tangible or useful but will clog parliament and the news cycle for months on end - feeding loads of air time to the RW's to blame the EU for everything. Enjoy the rest of Sunday
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I expect 2 years of structural reform which they are getting on with, 2 years when stuff starts to impact & get delivered into an election - having no idea what the political landscape will be in 29 I'm not putting bets on - but right now it's only a very small minority pinning everything on joining
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
They do and they got that majority based on a very straightforward position at the election - anything other than better alignment was off the table for this parliament. They are doing exactly what they said they would and people are annoyed by that. There is a huge amount to do everywhere else
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Because it's something that you would need to put in a manifesto and take to an election to logically make happen without being written off as going against people's wishes. Anyone suggesting it's a simple and easy process that could just be done is gaslighting people as much as the brexiters did
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Under pay them and make them feel grateful for the opportunity? Back to those manual jobs where people dropped dead at 65, solve the pension issues too
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
And which magically created striker would you have played?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Well the @podonthetyne.bsky.social bit on the game should take about 2mins and then all about signing Mbappe in a deadline day shocker and time travelling back to get a peak Messi in
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
That is some drop in value - anyone else would be screwed on PSR from that!
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
I can live with it not being worn this season - take the pressure off the lad and let him grow into the club - if he is our next 9 he can take it when he is ready.
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
when do these go live on the UEFA site? are they dripped out all day or at set times?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
wonder how much he has made from the blue tick
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
they are going to have a busy day selling on Monday
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Hopefully he is going to be ready to learn too - lots of coaching coming him way and an ideal project for Howe to work with
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Let's step back here - if he is going to sell everything we have left to his mates dirt cheap and let a bunch of gangsters take charge he might be onto something
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Or everyone suggesting leaving it should be detained without charge or trial until they have to call on it to free them
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Not at all Chris, more other clubs, it's refreshing that Newcastle can keep stuff in house and not fuel the rumour stuff.
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Newcastle can sell in June and keep PSR happy, he is obviously a Wilson replacement much as everyone Liverpool buy is just using up the Coutinho profit
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Perfect transfer story for Newcastle, proving you don't need to leak everything to the press to get stuff done. Brilliant replacement for Wilson and love to see him and Isak together
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
He is the Wilson replacement with a huge ceiling
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
He is, but not getting enough minutes, not defining his role, same as Anderson - he needs to be somewhere that he starts most weeks - we can't give him that
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Well done, keep being miserable
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Toto why are they moving us to the camps
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Still can't sell anyone
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Newcastle are doing well at playing ITKs?
Michael Smith (@smithmichaelw.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah but haaland doesn't help here
