Same here…grew up not far from the factory in Nottingham PA in Chester County. Remember when they came wrapped in wax paper and you had to smooth them across the lunch table to unstick the icing from the wrapper.

I just listened to your We Can Be Weirdos episode with @schreiberland.bsky.social and really enjoyed it. It gave strong “old friends are the best friends” vibes. You couldn’t be more different but you appreciate each other for the gifts you each bring to the table.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day…and my mom has been gone a month. I’m also a mom and it’s a really conflicted emotional place to be right now. I want to talk to my mom about it but I can’t.
I may have sent the funniest email of my life to my gynecologist and I fear it will be unappreciated.
My mom died two weeks ago. I’m angry at strangers who are happy. I want to scream at the person ahead of me in line “How can you be buying cupcakes-don’t you know my mom is dead?!” I want her to tell me she’s ok and I’ll be ok. Being a grown up sucks.

Interminably long preheat times are the bane of my home baking. I made the switch to a countertop oven large enough to accommodate a 13x9 pan and use it as as often as possible. Rapid preheating, faster baking times and doesn’t make the kitchen unbearably hot in summer.
Do you think someone’s going to try and give Wisconsin to Canada now? Like, just use a Sharpie and redraw the border?

I’m baffled that Dems aren’t swarming their home states with town halls right now. Take the heat, answer the questions and first and foremost SHOW UP. Dithering amongst yourselves has produced exactly nothing.

I hate them. But what I do love are the handheld scanners that let you scan as you go and put things into a bag in your cart. When you’re done, pay and go! Everything is bagged as you like it and you’re not left accidentally scanning your kumquats five times.
