There was a post years ago that really stuck with me: “What would you do if there were no men on earth for 24 hours” or something along those lines. Answering that question really brought home how unsafe we feel in so many situations and left me with a sadness that we can’t be free of that fear.
As with everything, they won’t believe it until it happens to them.
This is how I feel about Chicago libraries which close at 5 pm on Friday. Don’t they know that I want to spend my Friday night there?!
