With a President Harris, I could have found #homecare for my #patients using #Medicare and taken relaxing international vacations. Now, my frail patients are stuck in hospital for months unless we send them home to die, and I am more burned out than I was intern year of #residency
I've a neighbor with Alzheimer's. Her caretaker, who's looked after her for three years, was nabbed in a routine hearing (she is documented) and sent to the Philippines. The woman's husband, a fairly fanatical Trump supporter, is furious. I feel for her, less so for him.

We didn’t have money for that ish man. The smart kids from my high school went to one of 4 places 1) Ivies+ (Yale, brown, Stanford) 2) elite sports + academic schools (Michigan, Notre dame) 3) Ohio state or 4) those who didn’t care much about sports got free rides for CWRU or Miami of Ohio.
Honestly northwestern wasn’t even on my radar growing up in Ohio, can’t remember anyone from my high school who went there. There was another high achieving brown girl many years before me who went to…Michigan 😂 - the “nerd school” of choice was significantly less expensive Case Western

Well there are hospitals out there lol - there are three people I knew from #residency in #Milwaukee who all ended up in the Wenatchee/Richland, WA area at #community hospitals
The department is pretty much already pulling every layer of backup just for high #census in the hospital. We don't have enough white doctors to cover all the "racist dictatorship" absences 🤦♀️
Probably 50% of the adult #hospitalists are South or East Asian or Middle Eastern. I guess we'll need another layer of "Jeopardy" for "hey, my [permanent resident] spouse was thrown in prison by ICE and I need to take care of the kids" or better yet "I was detained by ICE and can't work"
#NorthCarolina definitely has lot of natural beauty too, I interviewed at Wake Forest for residency, and going from very snowy flat central #Illinois in January to that drive from Raleigh to Winston-Salem in 60F weather and trees and hills was tempting 😂 though I liked Milwaukee, where I ended up
There was no amount of money that was worth making that move, and he had to know the pressure on him in this job. [My brother lives in #Seattle and I love visiting, sticker shock keeps me out of living there but the upper Midwest has great QOL compared to Alabama as well 😂]
And if you get far enough out from #Seattle there are some reasonably affordable and equally beautiful areas in Washington State too, like Bellingham or even out east of the Cascades in wine country

Yeah, from what I'm seeing today I think that streak is unfortunately ending this November. #Michigan lost a LOT of players to the NFL, etc, so I just don't think we have the juice to beat this OSU game even in a low-scoring defensive game.
