Agreed. His tactics leave the team exposed and vulnerable. The team’s inability to finish exacerbates the issue.

Honestly I don’t think any of them have been great. I don’t know if that’s on the players, or Armas’ tactics. I don’t understand why he went away from what seemed to largely work last season. Or if he had to change it up, why not the 3-5-2 (3-4-3?) all season instead.
I’d argue he hasn’t had a really good game, he’s had some decent games, and a lot of bad ones. Definitely think he could use a sit for 60 min. But I also feel that way about Oli, so…

Bassett hasn't really been at a level to justify it this season, what with his nagging injuries and all. Last season before the injury he absolutely warranted it. But it seems like for whatever reason US soccer just doesn't rate him.
I also enjoyed the write-up! Only thing it's missing is maybe a bit of how his play will fit in the Rapids, but understand that's not your focus. I also went back and read your piece on the Djordje sale. Thought it was very good, and enjoyed the hat tip to our back and forth on the subject.
