We are definitely in mortal danger. The problem is that you can't go up directly against such overwhelming military force. Go around the side where they're not paying attention&attack from the rear. We need tactics and planning. Psyops are crucial to turning the tide. Hard to do¬ get busted now.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
Back in my youth, the instruments of authority, NG, cops, were much more cemented in their thought. The clowns in charge now aren't competent enough to pull off a total change of government in 12 months. You even have police departments declaring they won't cooperate w the feds. Leverage that.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
No. I was involved with things 55 years ago. Things are different now. The NG are just folks like you. I'll bet a lot don't want to be there. We need to undermine their potential orders. If you're following them talking to them and not yelling, they will be less inclined to shoot you.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
I sympathize with your position. Sometimes, I struggle to stay positive, but this is not just my idea. I was reading about a study (can't remember specifics) that showed that during disasters, people tended to help each other. One-on-one, I think we're good. However, I keep my shotgun oiled&loaded.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
We shouldn't make other Americans our enemies. We need everyone. The oligarchs need to keep us at each other's throats. Talking won't convince anyone, but food will convince the hungry of the righteousness of your cause. Actions speak, words mutter.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
I would say that if we want to get more folks on our side, we should organize a group to show up with food at the next hurricane or flood. If you're feeding people, you'll make a better impression and gain more converts than screaming at them and telling them they're stupid for voting the asshole in.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
No. I don't think you're right. During disasters, there are some looters, but notice how people, for example, spontaneously formed the Cajun Navy. Rednecks with boats went around rescuing people. I think people are inclined to help their neighbors, but maybe not your neighbors. Grow this kindness.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent

What you're saying is all true. Personally, I believe that TV was largely responsible for the "anesthesiasion" of the population. I stopped watching around 1969 & have watched myself become more & more socially divergent. My kids were only allowed 2hrs/dy & no sound during commercials. It worked.

This type of thinking is naive and dangerous. If you want to appeal to the 99.6% of the population you will need to get elected, you need to put your emphasis elsewhere. You can negotiate with one man, but not at all with the other. That's your choice. Nothing else is available. Take it or leave it
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
And so the purity tests start. Which of the two is likely to make any accommodation at all for trans people, Newsom or Trump? The 0.6% of the population who are trans should push for most electable person who doesn't want them dead. At any rate, we can either be righteous or we can win elections.
Essiyote (@standardtemppress.bsky.social) reply parent
You can't negotiate with people who would really like to lynch you. "Regular order" is dead. Democrats should be so angry that every 3rd word of any statement would be bleeped. And every Democratic politician should be in front of every mic they can grab every day.

Schiff and every other apologist for "regular order" have to go. We will never get our democracy back with these clowns in power. You can't negotiate with the other side when what the other side wants to do is lynch you. They have no interest in sharing power with the Democrats. The gloves are off.
