I appreciate that you're actually doing new themed artwork to support the MediaLab protests.
Former Republican who disavowed and left the GOP 15 years ago when it moved too far right, abandoned any principles, and became irredeemably stupid. Actually, come to think of it, I came here from Twitter for pretty much the same reasons.

Sadly, MAGAs actually think that Trump IS pro-labor, somehow. You know, just like he's also the President for "the working class." Clearly.

Yah, but as Paul mentioned, there are some accounts I follow that I WOULD still like to see reposts from. But there are also a number of them that all repost the same things, and I really don't need to see those a dozen times if I could help it. Account-based options like Twitter has would be ideal.

Perhaps, but if there's anything I'm sure of, it's that there is no 4d chess, no 'intentional distractions,' etc.—Trump and the rest of this regime have all the subtlety of an ice-water enema. They might not be able to DO everything they say, but everything they say is what they would LIKE to do.
SteveMND (@stevemnd.bsky.social) reply parent
Worst thing is that it's not even really trolling; it's earnest. The top brass installed in all these departments believe Dear Leader is infallible, so if Dear Leader says coal is what we should be focussing on, then by god, so be it! Science, and common sense, and data to the contrary be damned!
SteveMND (@stevemnd.bsky.social)
This is the moment, all right, if that moment was 1874. This is like top brass of the military droning on about how amazing and iconic "sharp sticks" are. Fucking embarrassing.

This reminds me of how @bsky.app needs to add an option to turn reposts on/off for individual accounts you follow, and not just generally. I used to follow/engage with a LOT more accounts back on Twitter because I could just turn off their constant reposts that added nothing to the conversations.
SteveMND (@stevemnd.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean, I block/mute the obvious bad actors and trolls and don't engage, and I've not really had any problem. You ARE a public personality, of course, and people love to engage with such folks regardless of familiarity, but I can't imagine it was any better over on similar sites like Twitter, etc.

So, MediaLab finally had a response regarding the issue. It's largely corporate BS, but I did get a grim chuckle that they leaned into the Business Daddy meme. Also, noteworthy that they only responded after the situation shifted from "protests" to "active NSFW posts to sour the advertiser pool."
