Yes, and by doing so they opened the door for problems with the Klingons in every iteration since. If they just stuck with “We don’t talk about it,” then we could all rest easy with “Okay, the shows have Klingons that look different but are the same.”

If I’m not driving myself, I’d rather take a Waymo than a taxi, Uber, etc. sure they make errors, but less than humans.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I wish I had the chance to say the same about The Throat.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
She’s trash, not a matter of opinion.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Pretty sure that number is now “at least one.”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Cmon, you can give her credit for being a garbage pseudo-human being. It’s okay.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Hey, give her some credit… she said Kirk would want us to pray for this guy. 🤦♂️
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I have a vague idea and no desire to have my suspicions confirmed.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
A delicious fish.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I can’t actually argue with him on this.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Better than Ezra but still Less than Jake
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh no. Did they blow Chunk?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Was that Bush? I thought it was Trump I.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
In some cases they have, in some law enforcement refuses to act on red flags, or chooses not to act on illegal firearms in the home. I work with traumatized kids, my job would be much easier if we could get guns out of homes where people have been threatened or where the roommate owns guns.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You say that we’re not dealing with Moriarty, but the shooter accomplished his goal and got away. The cops brought in the wrong guy, called him a suspect, and let him go (very odd for a suspect.) At this moment, the shooter could very well be Moriarty.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I have no experience with true crime, but this was planned ahead- shooter was in position with a rifle, engraved casings, and had an escape plan.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
My thinking too. If I wanted to get away with murder, I’d leave clues telling the investigators what they expect to find and actually be not that.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You’re right, I’d forgotten. And I focused on “engraving,” not writing.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Not an expert by any means! I just enjoy shooting and reading about guns.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Not very (I used to engrave things too.) But if you did, you’d weaken the casing and increase the risk of a case rupture. Of course, that might not bother someone planning to only take one shot. The shooter obviously intended it to be found anyway.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’ve been a shooter for 30+ years and I’ve never heard of this before, much less seen it.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
We want you all dead and settled for Charlie Kirk? What’s that, wanting roughly 100million dead but we can’t figure out how to get more than one? Think about what you’re saying next time.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Who decides how much makes sense? This is a damn good reason wrestlers/fighters should unionize.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
We can do something about them and still have them. Red flag laws and expanded background checks are a good starting point. Buy backs, destruction of weapons seized rather than resale, and heftier penalties for straw buyers would all be good, too.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
If only he didn’t have to die to be a better human. I’m glad that the world is a slightly better place without someone saying a certain level of people getting shot is the price we have to pay for freedom. But yeah, it’s disappointing that he was murdered instead of realizing his errors on his own.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Quit being a damn radical socio-lesbo communist hippie!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Nah. I’m glad he’s not spewing hate anymore. I think it’s actually too bad that he’s dead and I have empathy (that thing he derided) for his family. But he shouldn’t have to die. But I ain’t gonna lie and say I’ll miss him, and I’m certainly glad he shut up. He’d say the same about me, I’m sure.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Well, I hate him now slightly less than I did yesterday morning.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Jeez, releasing a “suspect in custody?” Do they not care how this sounds? How can they release the suspect? Use different language, like “person of interest!” It’s just dumb, not even low animal cunning.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m starting to rethink my “No shopping on Etsy” policy.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m trying to figure out where you’re getting “too” from this. Where are the Dem lawmakers praising this in any way?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Nice or not, it’s already pretty clear they’re right.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
All of which sounds great. But as a mental health professional for the last 20 years, easier said than done for most of us.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Y’know, I wanna be a pro wrestler just so I can forget the things that happened last year and move on with life. Seems to be working with these guys (and life coach Will Ospreay.)
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I never said he did. I said he didn’t work for WWE and he said he never dreamed of it. I simply said there’s plenty of other companies out there that he may have wished to work for. But thats his life. I’m just saying that even if you can’t believe his statement, it’s his statement to make.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I learned to play while I was learning to scuba dive. Lots of fun, very physical, and it’s amazing how long you can hold your breath when there’s a goal in front of you.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You have a very limited view. I don’t know anyone who considers AAA or NJPW indies. Is it that hard to believe that people who’ve never worked in WWE never wanted to work in WWE?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
It sounds like you have a particular viewpoint that keeps you from seeing others. Maybe they like Lucha or strong style? Maybe they like the culture elsewhere? There’s more to a decision about where to work than just “the biggest stage.”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
NJPW, AAA, TNA… There’s been plenty of other places to wrestle. My point is that not everyone aspires to be in WWE, and that’s perfectly fine.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Well, that’s self-serving, innit? “Young talent, you too can marry a beautiful wrestling-adjacent talent, get fired, get divorced, spend your time turning down ideas to get on TV while living in Bulgaria, and make a triumphant return to WWE. Seize the day!”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
My god, y’all are my people and I’m proud to share a thread with you. And after the figure skating digression, are there any fans of underwater hockey out there?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I feel like more wrestlers are speaking out about WWE not being their dream job, and that’s a good thing. Nothing against WWE, but there is wrestling beyond it and not everyone aspires to be main eventing WrestleMania.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Hey BooBoo!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You forgot “there was intelligence that no reasonable person would have acted upon, but this government doesn’t care.”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
There’s some people I want to record songs just so the chance of them choking to death on their own vomit goes up. A cover of “Orange Crush,” perhaps.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’d go with Lower Decks, but DS9 was interesting as it tried to go from purely episodic to long-running storylines as TV changed in the ‘90s.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, and it was all the answer that was needed. “We don’t talk about it.” Sometimes trying to “fix” continuity is more trouble than it’s worth.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Always the problem with working in a new job, you just don’t always know how to do what they want you to do. Glad that she’s killing it so much now!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
My understanding is that a few people cheered, then were drowned out by booing. Depending on the editing, it may have sounded like just cheers.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
8 and 5. Stupid inability to edit.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Episodes 8, and were the two that left me excited for the next movie. Episode 9 made me miss Ewoks.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, as a gun owner and enthusiast singling him out for lying about using drugs on his form was bullshit. I suspect at least half the gun owners in this country have done the same.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I love being able to talk about things I enjoy despite the country being a mess.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
As my son likes to remind me, “Nothing bad ever happens to the Kennedys!”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
And I used to love HDTGM. Especially the Punisher: War Zone episode.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
My most sincere apologies, I’m talking with someone else and didn’t realize we’d switched topics. You probably have a nice, normal, decidedly non-whorish mouth.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You shut your whore mouth about JCVD’s self-admitted greatest movie!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
So you’re giving up defending Trump? Thank goodness. I get tired of talking about him. And if you weren’t blatantly misunderstanding the court system, I wouldn’t have to.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Let me be clear. The only reason I’m responding to you is because you’re dancing around the definition of rape. You don’t know the American court system, despite trying to cite what it does. You say Carroll’s looking for payout and ignoring that the money isn’t going to her. Yes, you’re a dumbass.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Please, please put me in timeout. I looked at your profile to see who I was talking to and see that 90% of your posts are defending Trump and/or Republicans. I should have looked sooner before wasting my time.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Let me help you.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Dumbass, it’s a civil court. They can’t convict anyone of a crime. If you’re using the wrong word, that’s on you, not me.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Rousey worked for WWE for a short time and still saw what others insist on denying.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s my thing, too. It feels like he loves what he does, the wrestling, the stunts, the blood, and the goofiness.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
It was a civil trial- no, they did not have that chance. And whether you care about the judge or not, SHE made those comments to make it clear what the jury found. But anyway, all I’m trying to say is you brought up the whole preponderance of evidence thing. That’s what the jury found.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
The jury found that the evidence supported the contention that Trump forcibly digitally penetrated Carroll. That’s rape. This is why the judge felt the need to point that out. Anything else is quibbling over semantics. And you agreed that Trump was found responsible for it.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Brain worms.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Actually, you did. You said that that’s how a jury decides responsibility in a civil case. Since Trump was found at fault by the jury, that’s what happened. You also said the victim was making a money grab, which is completely irrelevant.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
So you’re saying that the the jury found that the preponderance of the evidence was that Trump raped her. You can argue the semantics as much as you want, but that was the decision. Yes, reasonable doubt exists, but the evidence says that he was responsible.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Remember, folks- never talk about anything unless it’s the worst thing happening. Cancel the damn football season!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Whose, exactly? I think Bondi doesn’t deserve it.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Pam Bondi is 100% full of crap. She didn’t show pictures of a list, she showed pictures of a file. A file that we didn’t know what was inside of. And like I said previously, Im sure he had notes and files, I just don’t think he had a “list” and I think that they’re likely useless to see who did what
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
…but they are likely to be vague, not sorted in an incriminating way, and have tens of thousands of pages of generic crap for every nugget of useful info. So basically, no “list.” And no one will be satisfied until one is somehow provided.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I don’t think you should to anyone without reason, but I feel like the Epstein stuff is kinda wacky. People are talking like there’s some sort of master list that was kept for blackmail material, but there’s no evidence of that. I agree with King- there’s no master list. There are files and docs…
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
He did.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
It occurs to me that while I’m talking about Stephen King, where this conversation began, you’re talking about “the rich.” Just a polite hint to you- it’s easy to make comments about a class of people, but then you’re not talking about persons. You’re no better than those who demonize the homeless.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
God save us from those who think their way is the only right way to accomplish something.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Nope. I think poverty is the most essential problem, but I think there are those who take advantage of others to become rich (Trump, Musk) vs those who become rich by providing a service (King, Dwayne Johnson.) I appreciate those who try to help others, even if it’s not how I’d choose to spend my $.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Okay! So you’re saying that those with “too much money” should be spreading it around, right? So maybe the problem isn’t with King, it’s that you disagree with how he donates his money and you prioritize housing the homeless over, say, the National Poetry Foundation? That’s a you problem.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Wait a minute- asking you to show how you get from point A to point B makes me a bot? How about, instead, we disagree and part ways amicably? Hell, it sounds like housing the homeless is a big concern for both of us, that’s a big commonality right there!
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You know you’re going from “people having money is bad” to “people having money causes homelessness” without showing how, right? I’ve worked housing the homeless for 20+ years and I can tell you that there’s more to it than just “King is a millionaire, therefore people are homeless because of him.”
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Seriously- he’s providing a service that people are paying for willingly. It’s not a necessity of life, they’re books. He’s not taking money away from anyone, they’re paying him for the privilege of reading his books. So again I ask, what exactly is he doing that’s so problematic?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
What, that poetry is good and necessary?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m sure he worked since then, but that felt like his big farewell to all of us.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Streets of Fire youtu.be/665Z-o5sNW8?...
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I won’t, but I will see King is a good example of creating wealth, rather than taking advantage of others. He has created products that people line up to buy, not by exploiting someone else’s labor, but by the literal act of creation. No theft, no misleading others. He went from teaching to rich.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Okay-how?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You proved me right. “To prohibit.” It can be prohibited by anyone- a parent, a school board member, a politician- and it can be as large or small a prohibition as that person has power over. I banned slime from my home, but the kids next door still have some.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
People other than the US government ban books. If it’s banned from a local public library, it’s still banned, even if the Little Free Library outside still has it.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes. Banned does not mean unavailable, it means someone in a position of power has said “You can’t have this.” It’s in the dictionary.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
The most boring and unerotic “erotica” that 12 year old me ever swiped from the library.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
That he doesn’t think there’s a master list that lists everyone Epstein provided services too.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
You know, I’ll cut some slack for people who started out poor, wrote books people love, and haven’t really taken advantage of others. The man likes to write and people buy his books- should we make him write less?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I get what you’re saying, but it’s still fiction. I’ve read It several times and never got the sense that the reader was supposed to be anything but uncomfortable, certainly not titillated. It’s an uncomfortable scene, one that the character Beverly herself is shocked by when she remembers it.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m a nut for used bookstores. There’s a couple great ones here in the Denver/Boulder area.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Having worked a both, I enjoyed Borders more.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
And allowed to go out of print because it made even him uncomfortable. Are we also complaining about Tom Clancy who predicted passenger planes flying into the Capitol?
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Dude’s a writer, one of the few professions that makes shit up for a living. How many scenes has he written with people being mutilated and dismembered? Somehow I never see people complaining when a horror writer writes violence or suggest he’s somehow a violent person.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Gotcha. I used to work for the chain and it didn’t occur you might be talking about something else.
Steward Ace (@stewardace.bsky.social) reply parent
Pls check what “banned” means. Anytime someone in a position of power says “You can’t have this,” it’s banned. It doesn’t mean you can no longer get it.
