I think the only real solution at this point, to get around the 2A nuts is to just tax the civilian gun market into oblivion. 200% federal tax on ammunition, etc.

Once went to a travel top we frequent, and their bathroom was being remodeled and they had a mobile bathroom trailer parked out front for everyone to use. Probably had about 5 stalls in it and hoses running every which way from it. It smelled worse than any traditional portapotty I’ve ever seen.

That’s good! I’ve never really cosplayed in public before, my social anxiety would be too high haha But it’s great you had a great time!

This and also they need everyone to fall into line and the easiest way to tell who’s not in line is to look around and see who is acting different. The whole “the nail that sticks out gets hammered down” but as a political litmus test.

How do they heat that much sand evenly though? I guess a distributed network of piping throughout the silo or something. Also just thought that they could have a heat gathering system on top of the silo in the sunlight to act like a “solar panel” for the “battery”

I wasn’t getting anything done because I was getting all the dopamine I needed from just, like, imagining the project being done and what it would be like. Now that I’m aware of this, (and since starting medication) I’ve been able to stick with projects over a longer period of time.
So, about two years ago I was diagnosed with AuDHD, and it finally helped me realize why I’d always been hopping from project to project: in an ADHD brain, there can often be a significantly higher dopamine reward for anticipating a tasks completion than given by actually completing a task.
Upon reading the comments it’s become pretty evident that I was sheltered as a kid.

Been following development for a month or so, and all I can say is you must have built a really solid, extensible foundation to be able to add content in as quick as you do. Something I’m trying to get right in my own projects.

The reason so many people think slavery wasn’t that bad is because when they hear the stories or see the pictures or are taught about it in school… …they picture themselves as the white people in those scenarios.
I have a lot of respect for public school educators but man they make some weird decisions as an organization. Now, I was homeschooled, but I’ve got a kid in middle school and man what a draconian place. No talking in the hallway, walk in a line. No individuality whatsoever.

Haha yeah, the trap I need to get out of is that it’s okay to use my nice things even if it’s for something “sloppy” like note scribbles. Maybe using the nice things will get me writing more, and eventually I’ll have nice notebooks full of nice, organized notes 😂
You’d think, for someone who wants nice stationery as much as I do, I’d have better handwriting 😅 Also most of my notebooks are for those quick, “get it out of my head before it’s gone” type of thing, and I’m kind of loathe to buy nice stuff for that sort of temporal thing haha.
It’s perfectly understandable given (a) the impact these decisions have on our lives and (b) how mind-bogglingly stupid everything is right now. It helps to be able to reach out into the aether and realize that not quite everyone is mind-bogglingly stupid.
I’ve got several of their notebooks, including one of the black paper ones. Their gel pens look amazing on the black paper. I think I’ve got the “Flame Test” series of colors.

I think this is a pretty good take. I mean, I’m not writing in assembly for a good reason. Compilers do that work for us. We always try to make our work easier. Of course, the critical distinction is that LLMs use far more energy, and their training data is dubiously sourced at best.

I downloaded Libra Office the other day. It’s going to take me awhile to fully transition, I’ve got to find a replacement cloud.
I can also write custom Sim Objects that always receive a Sim Update every frame, like a creature. Whereas a plant might only need a sim update every 10 seconds or so. It's a little basic at the moment, but I'm really excited to see what I can achieve with this foundation!
The sim can run intermittently as well since I can interpolate based on how much time has passed since the last sim update. If lag spikes are a concern, I can limit how many updates occur per frame and still keep everything on track just as if it were being simmed each frame.
This means that I can have a large procedural world with lots of simulated objects, like mobs and plants that grow over time, but I don't have to update their game objects (or even use a game object) until the player is close by.
Might not look like much, but this is a system test I'm working on that decouples the "simulation" object from the GameObject in the scene. Both cubes have their Sim Object updated each frame, but the second cube is only having its Game Object updated every 5 seconds. #IndieDev #GameDev
It’s not that hard! I came from a Unity background and it took me a minute to wrap my head around how Godots Nodes are different, but once I got it, it’s a lot of fun!
Different flag materials look slightly different in the wind. Also, due to the angle of the camera, the flag on the other side of the tank would appear at a slightly different angle due to perspective. Looks legit to me.

Well, the only issue with CSV that I’m discovering is that it’s harder to have nested objects. It’s doable, but makes your csv interpreter a mess. So if you need nested objects, CSV might not be the way
The biggest difference between Godot and Unity is how they treat components. In Godot, everything is a separate node so like a mesh a collider are separate nodes. It took me a minute to wrap my head around this, but once I got that it was a pretty easy switch :)
I’d love to learn more Unreal, but I managed to teach myself Godot and I’m probably at least as familiar with Godot as I am Unity now.
What engines are they teaching you on? I had one tiny class that taught Unity, the rest was just .Net and Java and web dev.
Wow I wish my uni had a computer games course. I ended up in game dev anyway, but it would have made for more interesting classes haha
Curious, what considerations did you have when choosing to go with xml instead of json or csv? I’m currently working on a game and am leaning towards csv for my external data.

Intentionally or not, Camille is incredibly neurodivergent. I’m currently watching Zeta for the first time and that is just the biggest thing standing out to me right now. Everything about him, even down to his sense of justice, just feels like parts of my own lived experiencez
I personally like “Bonus” and “Malus” because that’s just plain descriptive language, but not many people know about the word “Malus”
But I did write them. They are expressions of who I am. I’m not a single-faceted being. None of us are. We are light and we are dark. And sometimes our art is light, sometimes it’s dark, but most often it’s a mix of the two.
Not only are they rude, they also completely miss the fact that making art is about discomfort sometimes. Sometimes you have to touch the darkness inside and bring some of it out. I’ve written a couple of short stories that, upon looking back, amaze me that I had the courage to write.

Does it show your location when you aren’t using the app?
Man I thought they were specifically giving instructions on how to solve these in the system prompts. It’s a little surprising that they haven’t managed to solve this problem yet, even considering all the problems you can expect trying to get a LLM to perform logic.
There was a moment back in the spring where I swear every single baseball fan was on Bluesky. I don’t know if the summer heat got to them, they went inactive, or it was just a fluke of my discovery queue and they’re still out there, happily posting clips of The Baseball.
It’s looking good! I always felt like in these games that the big, multi-part destructible enemy should be treated like a set piece. You know how when you see them scroll onto the screen your dopamine receptors start warming up?
