This is my "home with the flu" go-to movie. Coincidentally, "Better Off Dead" also turned 40 a few days ago. Man, I'm old. We took our granddaughter to see the Toronto stage show this year. Wow. It was like seeing the movie for the first time again. To see the look on her face? Priceless.

I've always believed the same. Imagination is limitless in what can be conceived while movies are limited to only one vision. The creator of the movie decides what parts are important or what can be changed, and that might not jive with my vision of things, good or bad.

You're not wrong. Foundation was always a tough one to adapt for either TV or movies. Season 1 was visually brilliant, but I got lost in Season 2. It really deviates from what Asimov wrote, to the point where I'm starting to not recognize it.

I can't recommend The Silmarillion highly enough. Tolkien's use of language is beautiful, and the story approaches the level of epic myth. I re-read it every few years and seem to find something new every time.

CBC Radio is a warm blanket, spiritually, for me. The radio in my Grandparent's kitchen on the farm was playing the CBC from morning to night. There is something inherently soothing for me just knowing that the CBC is there. And PP can't have it. It's ours.
