Many states donāt let you get a COVID vaccine without a prescription as they had existing laws that tied access to official CDC approval. This made sense as a safety measure, but now the CDC has been taken over by antivaxxers, several states are rightfully modifying these laws to reinstate access.

You know what, youāre definitely right. I think itās harder to tell myself that and believe it vs hearing it directly from a trusted authority on the subject (you) Maybe I should put deference on the studies that compare the variants? Idk. Industry sponsoring usually adds to my lack of finality

I agree. However, I usually find myself going back to the āwell, if thereās such little difference, then how did these variants manage to dominate to the degree they didā Obv more than S matters, but tbh it just makes me think those extra few mutations might really matter going forward

It is astonishing that they are demanding a placebo control here. This is brazenly unethical. There is no equipoise about whether or not COVID-19 vaccines work. You cannot give people saline to evaluate a strain update (and while not explicitly stated they seem to be suggesting that strain...

@ryanhisner.bsky.social The antigenic distance shown in the map makes BA.3.2, potentially, a great candidate for a (hypothetical) booster if it grew in dominance (Would allow for recruitment of naive B-cells instead of pure recall) I wonder if weāll even get an updated booster for this fall⦠š
