Yeah, our LTR is mostly just commuter rail. Housing needs built around the stops to really make it effective. But lesson learned it seems. Additionally, the 16th St pedestrian mall renovation project is very close to completion, coming in just under budget shockingly. Weโve figured *something* out.
Trims have their benefits as well for areas that are heavily pedestrianized, for instance, as their racks make them predictable enough to move at sidewalk/pedestrian level.
Nobody has had the time to build up the political capital needed to invest in mass transit that isnโt seen as exclusively for white middle class commuters, BRT as a concept is still really new. Denver is going to have a fantastic system if them.

BRT was only really thought of in the past 10-20 years. Very few cities actually have it. But those that have invested in it have seen amazing results. For instance, Denver, my city, is building a BRT down the busiest bus line in the state. The first stops are nearing completion.
The idea that bike lanes cause gentrification is funny because it suggests that theyโre a desirable amenity that people will pay a lot of money to live near. Maybe build bike lanes in more places so theyโre not as rare? (Also build more housing!)
