A bus stop is visible next to the road at left. There is a bench under the cover of the stop. There is a colorfully painted information kiosk next to the stop, and trash and recycling receptacles. There is a parking lot behind it, and a building behind that with an aquatic mural painted on it.

No worse than my Graflex RB Super D, probably a bit lighter in fact. It’s not going to fit in my jacket pocket, but compared to most 4x5 cameras, it’s pretty reasonable. Only one I have that would be significantly lighter is my Wanderlust Travelwide. That’s significantly less capable than this.

Typically for a stereo camera of that era, the photos would be printed side by side and place into a viewer. You would hold the viewer up to your face, which has a separation partition that ensures you see one of the images with each eye. Your brains puts them back together as stereo.

Exactly. The first back is perfect if you’re using it to proof shots the way professionals used to use Polaroid backs on the Hasselblad because you can switch easily. This version is more for people who shoot instant as a final product and want the shot without the compromise of the black border.

The NONS back is interesting. You shift the viewfinder position upward with an adapter they provide. You also have to screw on a diopter to the lens in order to restore infinity focus. That’s how the get it to have no black border with this version. If you take off the diopter, your lens is a macro.

The Smartflex is a 4x5 camera, not medium format like the Hasselblad. The back that’s on it now is a Lomograflok back that Smartflex modified to make the film plate flatter; Lomography’s standards didn’t meet their high expectations. I’ll also use standard 4x5 backs and Grafmatic backs.

Seeing this thread by my friend Greg makes me wish I lived in the city and could vote for Mamdani instead of out in one of the most Republican suburbs in the greater metropolitan area in a neighborhood that voted for Trump 2:1.

I didn’t subscribe to the NYT because they’ve shown themselves incapable of standing up to right wing lies numerous times over the years, but I did subscribe to the Washington Post. I dropped that when they chased out everyone worth reading and subscribed to the Inquirer for exactly the same reason.

Going to a tiki restaurant for dinner. Wearing my Ukrainian Hawaiian shirt because it’s Ukraine Independence Day.

An old bearded white man stands in front of a pantry wearing a blue and yellow Hawaiian style shirt with a Ukrainian pattern on it.

Jekyll Brewing The sign in the window of this place is an eviction notice. I looked them up later. The main brewery is up near Atlanta, and they shut down about a month before I shot this. Sounds like a classic case of overextension. Looks like it […] [Original post on pixelfed.thereisnocat.com]

A modernist building made of glass and concrete has a sign over the door saying Jekyll Brewing. There are wood and metal tables out front with closed umbrellas, and white planters in front of that, sitting on a stone patio/sidewalk. There is a balcony wrapping around the second floor, but nothing is visible up there. There are paper signs in the door, and the place is closed.

"If it were true that Ukraine belongs to Russia in the 2020s because a Russian dictator knows a legend about a Viking in the 860s... millions of people who actually live there would have no voice in their own identity: no choice but to accept the executions, the torture, the kidnapping of children."

It takes a historian to debunk fake history, and few know the real history of Ukraine and medieval Kyivan Rus better than Timothy Snyder. Certainly Vladimir Putin doesn’t actually know history no matter what he claims.

A two story building in white stucco. The first floor has a wall of full length windows with wooden tables and wooden stools standing upside down on top of them. Painted on the stucco outside is “O-KU Jacksonville Beach”. The second floor has a balcony with modernist tables and chairs outside on it.

Fudge Kitchen Every shore town in southern New Jersey has at least one Fudge Kitchen. This one is in Ocean City. Hasselblad 500cm, Shanghai GP3 100 (220), Rodinal 1:50. #BelieveInFilm

A candy stand on the boardwalk. The building is stucco and the stand is at the corner. The corner of the building has a tower. The stand has a full wall of windows at ground level. An awning over the front reads “The Original Bogle Bros. Fudge Kitchen. Premium Chocolates • Salt Water Taffy”.
