Trump has suffered major losses recently — in both federal courts and the court of public opinion. It's why he lashes out at the media, spreads lies, attacks his political enemies, and tries to rig elections. These are the actions of a tyrant with his back against the wall.

You’re arguing with a claim I didn’t make. I wasn’t denying gender dynamics or disputing the OP’s point. My point was simply that U.S. economic/community design over the last 70 years has structurally made isolation worse for everyone. That’s the point I made, nothing more.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
I never said violence or gender dynamics weren’t factors. My point is that the economic development path of the U.S. over the last 70 years has structurally isolated everyone. Male loneliness is one symptom of that broader design. It’s not a “charade,” it’s a systemic critique.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
My point wasn’t about women making money or “options.” It’s about how the U.S. has designed its economy and communities over the last 70 years. suburban sprawl, car dependence, weaker community ties, more economic precarity. Those forces isolate people across the board.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social)
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
Loneliness is a result of the way Americans have economically developed in the past 70 years. We have almost perfectly gone down the path to be the most isolated and have the most dysfunctional communities.

Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare. Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed. Getting big money out of politics. Supporting unions and fighting for higher wages. If Dems want to win back working people, this is the agenda they must support.

Living a moral life in an age of bullies requires collective action; it cannot be done alone. Each of us must organize and participate in a vast network of moral resistance. From this solidarity we will grow stronger. This is what our current moment requires.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
Wouldn't that be nice. Like people understood comprehensive mental healthcare should be universally available and mental health issues need to be de-stigmatized so people aren't afraid to seek help. Additionally, reasonable gun measures but guns are the bandaid level issue in most cases.

When do we get to the point that we don't need rotating blackouts during peak demand? When are we going to push for geothermal heat exchange systems over gas compressor AC systems? When are we going to acknowledge wind turbines do in fact use more concrete and steel than nuclear power plants would?

Yeah. Build standardized modern nuclear reactor designs. Less concrete and steel needed to scale than wind, no oversized laptop batteries needed for "reliability"

California’s Independent Redistricting Commission was created through a ballot measure approved by voters. That measure was placed on the ballot by independent grassroots organizations and citizen groups, not by the legislature or the California Democratic Party.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm talking about the immediate situation. The fact California is putting something on the ballot is for legal, not party, reasons. And Californian voters passed the original measure - not the legislature - not the Democrats - the voters.
Robert Andrade (@thesaphirelegacy.bsky.social) reply parent
California has to hold a ballot vote because of the independent redistricting commission that voters passed into law. It is the only legal way to bypass the commission without major legal issues. Point is it is getting framed as a party difference when it is a state specific legal one.

Wages of unionized workers are 13% higher than their nonunion counterparts. But unions also set a higher pay standard that all workers enjoy. In high-union-density states, median household income is $12,000 higher than in low-union-density states. This is why unions are vital.

Progress demands courage. Progressives must run everywhere, every time, for every office. If the establishment calls it ‘socialism,’ that’s only proof it challenges the broken status quo and serves the people instead of the powerful.
