Broke out The Woodworking Shed sharpening system for the first time! A little nervous honing the edge on a brand new chisel, having never sharpened a tool before! But it turned out pretty well. I got a burr, a shiny finished, and it cuts effortlessly! #woodworking #handtools

Never owned a carpenter's square until now, and honestly, how did I live without it?! Squares, angles, offsets ā it's absolutely incredible. And one thing's for sure: with this colour, I'm never losing it! š Which marking & measuring tool can't you live without? #woodworking
Haha š You have to change a belt over I can see that from the images I've been sent. But! It is speed adjustable so nothing stopping us adding a second belt in the name of efficiency!

I sussed this out in the most unlikely of places! An old woodworking machines book came up on vinted and check the front cover! This machine is the Major Coronet 12 Function Woodwork Lathe. Mystery solved! #woodworking #oldtools

That's great to hear, I have never restored a plane so I'll definitely be a bit nervous. I have read some articles on it and will watch more videos etc.. before getting started. These are from a deceased family member so I want to do right by him!

My interest is purely educational š I am welcome to the machine if I want it, but it goes against what I am trying to achieve. I also don't want to bring unnecessary risks into a small shop space as you so rightly pointed out!

I heard for long term storage it's best to separate the chip breaker and iron as pitting can occur where they touch above the cutting edge.
