The lesson from this war - shooting of missiles must be symmetric. If the aggressor shots missiles at targets of his choice and defender tries to intercept them - this is losing strategy for the defender. Europe must remember this lesson for a case an unnamed aggressor attacked another country
This war has provided great opportunity to test new weapons, for those who cooperate with Ukrainians in a good will. On the other side, Russian and Americans still live in a world where American weapons are all wunderwafe and Europe is defenseless without them.
Also Trump and his idiotic politic has contributed to these attacks. Russia is neither afraid of Trump nor of Europeans. For different reasons. USA is lost. And Europe is stronger that it seems but afraid of direct confrontation with Russia

Trump is not sure who is winning now - though generally he believes it is Russia. Eventually he will tilt to a looming winner, I would say. He do not want to be linked to a loser....
You refused an air ceasefire, now you have what you wanted. Meeting Zelensky - Putin is still on the table, so there is at least one point to discuss. If you want, of course :)

Allowing American long-distance missiles shoot to Russia (next week purportedly) will be a test. With bad situation with their refineries, Russia will push Trump not to allow them - at minimum. But possibly also, Putin will urge Trump to even push Ukrainians to stop those strikes

I would say they were, at least few of them 'tested' on Russian targets, this war has at least this one advantage - you can test new weapons without having to publish or explain anything

I would say Trump does not want to side with a loser. He believed Ukraine was about to lose and still believes it, but I would say he is not that sure now. And this will decide if he will side with Russia more or distant himself.
