100.000 foreign soldiers on the Russo-Ukrainian contact line would be nice. But 5000 flamingos and other missiles on stock will matter much much more. Russia understand it and is afraid of this scenario - this is why they talk so much about demilitarization etc.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
One big beautiful fire Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Hungarian energy security is not at risk. Repeating your claim 1000 times does not make it true
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
This way of communication will hardly bring any results.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Indeed. As long as Russians know that Hungary will sabotage any anti-Russian action, they we be bold and daring.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Two countries with big problems.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Demilitarization and denazification of Russia is long overdue.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Recorded in China? This is just a posture for the 'global south' about how peaceful Russia wants to end the 'conflict' but evil Ukrainians are against it.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
How to understand this? Are they really asking Kyiv for negotiations? Or just posturing for Trump? Anyway, we do not see any softening of demands on Ukraine.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
China has economic problems and Xi's position has purportedly weakened lately. To rely on one dominant trading partner is not wise :)

There was no progress on the Alaska summit.

Paid by Europeans and controlled by American government (read: president), I guess...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Europe needs own replacements of PATRIOT. We cannot rely on USA, situation there can and probably will deteriorate even more...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Do not expect anything good from Trump
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Chinese would be stationed on Russian side of border, guarding and making sure that Russia will not prepare and attack another neighbor. This is the only scenario where Chinese might be useful...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Europe will never produce as many arms as Russia or America, we simply do not have raw materials for the quantity, but we must be smarter, more efficient...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
And Europe should wake up and be honest to itself about who is a real ally and friend and who will betray us for few dollars and creepy photo.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Who said they want to end the war? Some American who has no clue about Europe, Russia or our history? Who believes that Russia wants few km2 more and there will be a peace?
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Indeed, current lunatic American president functions as a black hole for visitors' money, golden gifts, crypto currency schemes to enrich Trump or at least an airplane nobody wants....
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
The lesson from this war - shooting of missiles must be symmetric. If the aggressor shots missiles at targets of his choice and defender tries to intercept them - this is losing strategy for the defender. Europe must remember this lesson for a case an unnamed aggressor attacked another country
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
This war has provided great opportunity to test new weapons, for those who cooperate with Ukrainians in a good will. On the other side, Russian and Americans still live in a world where American weapons are all wunderwafe and Europe is defenseless without them.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Also Trump and his idiotic politic has contributed to these attacks. Russia is neither afraid of Trump nor of Europeans. For different reasons. USA is lost. And Europe is stronger that it seems but afraid of direct confrontation with Russia
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
We are heading to idiocracy. People voting for clearly stupid politicians.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
You can force them into it. But in 10 or 20 years they will be back where they are now. Siloviki and mafia will survive any regime change and resurface in a new regime, keeping all power, money and influence. And ordinary Russians will vote for anybody who will have good PR and be backed by money
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
This should had been done in 2022...

Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Russia rejected air and even full fledged ceasefire. Decisions have consequences. If Hungarians believe that since now till the end of the war the Russian oil will flow without interruptions they are bit stupid or naive...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Russian style warfare: we fight only defensive wars and all the time we ends up with bigger territory unintentionally.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Current strikes on oil infrastructure will be incentive for Russians to do something, e.g. - use Trump to pressure Ukrainians - increase verbal threats to Ukrainians - try to negotiate with Ukrainians I do not think it will lead to Zelensky/Putin meeting though...
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Hungary can sell to Slovakia and Slovakia to Hungary and than both re-export to Ukraine All three sides will be satisfied.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump is not sure who is winning now - though generally he believes it is Russia. Eventually he will tilt to a looming winner, I would say. He do not want to be linked to a loser....
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
You refused an air ceasefire, now you have what you wanted. Meeting Zelensky - Putin is still on the table, so there is at least one point to discuss. If you want, of course :)
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent

Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Allowing American long-distance missiles shoot to Russia (next week purportedly) will be a test. With bad situation with their refineries, Russia will push Trump not to allow them - at minimum. But possibly also, Putin will urge Trump to even push Ukrainians to stop those strikes
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
It might backfire badly on America
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
I believe there is a light at the end of tunel, finally And no I do not mean burning refinery :)

After 20 years of staged elections in Russia it is Zelensky who is illegitimate. Makes sense
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
No elections during a war, we got it
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Focus on your own personality, first
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Europe needs time. But split seems to be inevitable. E.g. Trump is hurting own arm industry, who needs expensive systems when you arbitrarily cannot use them even in a defensive war.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent

Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Viking were not Slavs. Early Muscovites were not Slavs. Ruriks were not Slavs... Only gradually share of Slavic population grew and become dominant. Russians says they are Slavs, but their roots are not even Slavic. Being a Rus in 1000 CE was not ethnic identity, at best being orthodox Christian
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Wait, what did Russia conceded? Zelensky is still 'illegitimate' and new 'elections' are still demanded by Russia last time I heard from them. 'Territorial integrity' - they call it 'rump state' - but yes, Russia agree that the rump state will have some borders :)
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Ceasefire is like a prototype in engineering. So what they say sounds like: 'we are skipping a prototype because most prototypes are failures'
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
I would say they were, at least few of them 'tested' on Russian targets, this war has at least this one advantage - you can test new weapons without having to publish or explain anything
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
With new Ukrainian missiles he was kind of pushed to this approval.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
This is normal in Russia for 'new territories' - exchange of population. Not with cattle wagons as during Stalin, but subtler tools today - financial stimulation and so on Problems with water and waste - this reflects overall situation in Russia.

Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Putin participates only in events that can be domestically presented as his victories. Meeting with Zelensky - too risky for him
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
Next step will be Russian forces as peacekeeping forces...

If the missiles proves itself, after the war Ukraine will need thousands of those on the stock - as a deterrent for Russia
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
It has changed into boring soap opera.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
I would say Trump does not want to side with a loser. He believed Ukraine was about to lose and still believes it, but I would say he is not that sure now. And this will decide if he will side with Russia more or distant himself.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent

Trump should quietly walk away, but keep some support (intelligence, selling weapons) ... and let Europeans take the lead....
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
I do not think that America is heading to something like Stalin's great purges, but remember that Stalin started gradually, first it was just newspapers campaign against victims, then first imprisonments came, then executions and mass arrests later, and then bloodshed in full speed...

Or real Putin pretending to be fake Putin 😆

People of Slovakia does not depend on Russian gas. If all of our neighbors* can live without Russian gas, we can as well. * - except for Hungary that is also somehow magically dependent on solely Russian oil
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
We are witnessing a change in the driver's seat. Trump out, EU in. And russians do not like it at all. Their opportunity is gone.
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent

Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
This is not about oil, this is about a discount that get lost before the oil reaches ordinary citizens. Lost in 'right' pockets. Russian money covertly flowing to selected people in Europe. Watch you complain most and you will get a clue
Tibor B. (@tiborb.bsky.social) reply parent
If they do not have alternative supplies arranged after 3.5 years it is actually them (the governments) who endanger security of own nations. I say this as Slovak. Fico's government is personification of incompetence...

I wonder to what degree current shortages are matter of panic or is this a genuine shortage. 10% capacity down does not necessarily mean 10% lesser production
