Except most flags are not good. Most provincial flags wouldn’t get votes. The couple of other ones that have cool flags tend to have a symbol on the flag that would likely beat out the flag itself. It is not getting votes because it’s the flag, it’s getting votes because the flag is unusually good

Except the bc flag is cool

I was fully in support of this until the dancing lady sat directly beside a person on a bus full of empty seats

Sometimes I like to judge things based on how excited they will make someone who’s doing a deep dive in an archive in 60 years. This is tops.

Wait…. Wealth and race are correlated so maybe capitalism can be illegal. Can’t charge money or whites are getting a DEI. Can’t have that
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
But Michael, you’re polarizing the people who are okay with genocide. Now they aren’t going to agree with you.

How does a facial expression look illegal?

The reframing of art, commentary and discourse as ‘content’ has been such a depressing hyper capitalist thing that would have felt heavy handed if you put it in a book twenty years ago.

What rut is Wikipedia stuck in? It’s a stable and reasonably well maintained information collection with a proven operational model? It’s a pretty amazing example of volunteerism and collaboration.
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m pretty sure the book straight up recognizes that the intended audience may not want to or be able to read it linearly and has a ‘hey, just go read these bits’ suggestion right off the top.

Why are you having a meeting if you don't need to talk to the people? The point of a meeting is to have live interactive interface between individuals. If you don't need that then you don't need a meeting.

Williams Lake is having a real one. An 11pm curfew can't be a thing you can do with a municipal bylaw, can it?
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
I love that this is teaching geography through the PR blurbs from municipal governments.

This is such intellectual bull, using words like 'some' and 'can' so you can state contrarian positions that you know are not actually prevalent or strongly associated.

There were definitely seventy buck N64 games in the mid nineties.

What would a tariff even mean? It's not a good with an imported value and production financials are adventurous at best. Is it a fee on the foreign labour cost? Who is paying it? There isn't an importer of a specific thing.

Also the boat has eaten the car. This is a bad situation all around.
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
It feels like a bunch of the antivax stuff relies on feeling smarter and less afraid than people, and that framing built around vaccines being courageous sacrifice for others and not taking them being cowardly fear of an imagined risk might be something.
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
The car is in distress. Its people have abandoned it and it is being kidnapped by a boat.
Tyler! (@tlhs.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm going to a movie so I have to turn this stuff off!

Which is somehow not a hundred percent out of the question because of the Alberta 'provincial rights' push of the last couple of years.

Wait, why do they have a TV that shows the angle that the viewer is already looking 😄

Alternate option: an unhinged debate with yourselves where you pretend to voice two different people

How the greater than 100% China tariffs would even theoretically work in that situation is wild though.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

I’ve seen all different types of people in my social media thinking that perceived levels of voting participation means their specific group has mobilized. I have a guy who worked for the Fraser institute posting about it being a good sign.

It is actually named after the man who invented it, Maj. League Baseball. They don’t talk about it much because Maj. Baseball forced enemy POWs to play his new sport and workshop rules.

Also, it blocks off the major bike route and just kind of ends without any direction on how to keep going. The only viable detour for the all ages, fully separated seawall bike route is probably the Main Street painted line bike route that interacts with high speed, high volume traffic.
