Postage is becoming horrendous. I just checked the cost now and it is £10.95 so send any of my artworks that are over £50, that’s a big cost to add on for artists who are already struggling to sell 😞 That means that fees are around £23 before the cost of my work 😞

I’ve just remembered one of my husband’s friends moaning that the neighbours kids were up too early and being too loud…. on Christmas morning!
At a funeral! Wow! For me weddings are family occasions, kids and all (we very much come as a package) but I respect the couple’s decision, I just hate it when parents are given grief for not leaving their children to attend.
Not to say all “no child guests” couples are like that but the few I’ve experienced have been.
These were also couples who go to Disney & complain about the kids! One time I was still breastfeeding my son & I politely declined the invite, wishing them the most wonderful day, I got a reply saying they’re disappointed that I won’t leave him for 1 day & “I guess i know who my real family are”.
We’ve found this with wedding invites that state no children. We don’t mind because it’s their day & should all be 100% what they want but a few times we’ve had the couple get very grumpy with us for saying we won’t be attending for that reason. There’s no animosity on our part at all.

I’m the same, I forage the things I know well but I leave anything else until I have studied it a bit & recognise the difference between similar plants. I am yet to forage mushrooms because I’m not confident enough yet. It’s all good fun learning 😁
Never trust AI, I saw a woman in a foraging group who made “a nice fish sauce” out of a plant the AI ID said was one thing, her husband refused to eat it unless she asked actually foraging experts… turned out it was Hemlock!
Dandelion root coffee, that’s another favourite!
You definitely want them when the flowers are full, bookmark the info for next year! I keep meaning to create a proper notebook with foraging favourites, I’ll share each page when I do 😁
I use it for dry skin, eczema, coldsores and sunburn but self heal as a tea (we dry the flowers) can be used for upset stomachs, colds and fevers 😁
I keep it in the fridge because it’s very loose, unlike the dandelion balm that I use beeswax with.
From my notebook - melt two large tablespoons of coconut oil & add a cup of self heal, leave to heat for an hour, strain & pour into small tins or jars. I heat it bain marie style with a pan in a pan, don’t boil! I use flower heads with some leaves attached. After heating it has a slight green hue.

I love lemon balm, we dry out a little to have with mint as a tea. Apologies for not replying earlier, it had been a long day so I’ll grab that recipe for you tomorrow 🙂 Dried nettle seeds (from the female plant) are good for hey fever too, we chuck them on porridge.
Of course, I didn’t make it this year as we still have last year’s. I think it was just coconut oil and self heal but I’ll grab my note book this evening and copy it for you 😁 Dandelion balm is fantastic too but they have all gone now!

A few years ago my kids were really into Bugsnax. My son designed his own critter called a Scoopapede that was made of red, blue and yellow ice cream scoops and had spoon legs so I crocheted it for him as a surprise.
