I finished my first pass pages for Seek the Traitor's Son and as usual at this stage, I am 1. convinced the book is brilliant 2. convinced the book is trash whether i'm right or i'm right, there's nothing to be done about any of it at this point!

Just as an FYI for people with face recognition difficulties, the best way to find me at conventions is to look for a shockingly tall woman with airpods. I will be listening to either Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter or Give Me One Reason by Tracy Chapman, my convention overstimulation coping songs.
also, can we campaign to have tiny book covers printed on name tags at conventions, because THAT'S what I really have a great memory for.
Yeah, when I stare at name tags it's just because I'm anxious that I have incorrectly paired the tiny face from social media with the name in my head. (Though there are some cases where it's obvious the person you're talking to sees your name and checks out of conversation immediately.)

(I'm sure there are stylistic reasons why one might elect not to use contractions but the problem was that I was *sometimes* using them and sometimes not so it was like characters were lurching into this other kind of diction without reason.)

Got asked how my writing has changed since Divergent and the serious answer is very long/involved but the fun answer is that I use more contractions now. I had no idea I wasn't using them that much and the first editor to point out this occasional stiltedness was @johnjosephadams.com

ME1 is a little slow going-- game mechanics are tedious but the story payoff is well worth it, imo, especially when you get to the 2nd and 3rd games.
I wanted to try that one but then it was really buggy when it came out, I think? I assume that's resolved now? I should give it a go.
