I like to have a suite of small things from which I can pick. Exercise is one, yoga has been life changing. I bought a digital piano and play that a lot, a little guitar and drums too, but the piano has been a godsend. Books are good too. I try to practice meditation in small bits.

That's great! I've gone in and out of different phases, been in a good spot the past 5 years with yoga at the core of my fitness, and I feel great as a result. I hope you keep finding strength and happiness in your fitness!

No recovery tips for the sprain, but after a few years of daily yoga, I do advocate for improving range of motion and strength across all muscles. Iāve avoided a few injuries I can attribute to more holistic fitness than Iāve ever had.

I discovered this one in college. The view from my room looked down on the RPI field house, with the hospital chimney in the background, strongly evoking the album cover. Hit hard as the market crashed and I neared graduation.

If the UPS saga our family is dealing with re: tariffs on a modest purchase from Canada is any indication, all international shipping into the US is completely fucked, and it's likely that the de minimis change isn't the sole cause of the embargo. UPS must have lost $00's on our order already.

Depending on your insurance and access, you may be able to get it at a pharmacy. I took a booster in mid-2022, when it was only available for high risk, and all I had to do is say I was high risk on the pharmacy scheduling form. I figured, I had Omicron, so that changed my risk profile.

For unrelated reasons I shifted my 401k assets into cash before the inauguration. While the initial tariff decline was halted, I think thereās still a big crash looming. Tariffs, AI, federal layoffs, ICE. Too many forces putting downward pressure on the market.

A recent investment into our family property needed Canadian produced components: we had to fight UPS on a claimed 50% tariff because our goods crossed customs before new rates took effect, and so āonlyā paid 35% on the aluminum, a 15% tax on the total, which was around $3500 in materials.

I like to think through scenarios where forces reach their natural conclusion. Like, what if half the population has 20% of the representation? Or what if, we can and do concentrate production to .001% of humans, but still expect capitalism to keep the peace? Enlightening but harrowing thoughts.

Our family has been working towards a major investment in the roof of our shared farm property. The only manufacturer is in Canada. We finally put the order in, but not soon enough, and now we have to pay an unknown but possibly 50% tariff, and who knows how long it will take to successfully move.
