Hhmmm … if he had a stroke, it could have affected his speech and left him with some facial paralysis/drooping. That would be a very good reason not to speak to the press or be photographed from the front.

I thought the Chicago mayor was lackluster at best in this interview but with Joe, it’s not about a specific question, it’s his overall attitude and delivery. He tries to one up his guests and the job of a journalist is to draw out the subject and get them talking. He loves hearing himself talk.

I have asthma and bronchial issues so if I don’t start Paxlovid right away, I could wind up in the hospital. So far, this one hasn’t been a mild case. I hope you feel better very soon.
I tested positive today too. Cost of Paxlovid is now $1600 for a five-day supply. Trying to stay alive just got a lot more expensive.
The pharmacist told me this happened because the government is no longer subsidizing these medications. I asked him what others are doing when faced with these exorbitant costs and he told me people are leaving without their prescriptions. People will die or go bankrupt trying to stay alive.
I did some research and found a savings program through the manufacturer that made it very affordable, but it was terrifying to think this is our future. What happens when we cannot afford his cancer treatments or meds to keep him alive. I’m terrified and you should be too.
I sat on the phone shell shocked, short of breath, and with an excruciating headache from the COVID. I called my husband in tears and said we can’t afford my medication. It’s the first time that’s ever happened and believe me, I know we are very lucky to have insurance.
I was diagnosed with COVID this morning and my doc called in Paxlovid which I’ve taken before. With insurance, It was very reasonably priced in the past. Today, the pharmacist called me to say I would now owe $1600 for that same prescription. With insurance, the cost brought it came down to $400.
Befuddled is the best word that I can think of to describe what I just saw.
