This is what empathy can look like. Not because of some "I'm/You're right and you're/I'm wrong" but because they don't know what it's like for me, and I don't know what it's like for them, but we can each appreciate/respect the situation the other faces and the person experiencing it. ❤️
Though I just realized now that list is only through 2024! So maybe they banned it earlier in some school districts and now it's statewide? I don't know. In any event, it's frustratingly difficult to find a current list of banned books to figure out the truth of this!
Thank you! I admit I sometimes overreact when seeing something like that. Honestly, had this problem my whole life where I just think people are just saying exactly what they mean (as that's what I do) unless it's *extremely* obvious it's sarcasm/joke. Text just makes it harder for me.

The problem is your article is from 2023. I encountered this same confusion myself. The graphic novel version was banned in 2023. The original version was apparently the one banned recently.
