Forgot to mention Alentejo, a region that matches Belgium in area, that we created specifically to make this transition smooth.

I mean, look at them: an almost perfect rectangle, portrait, a perfect 2.5:1 aspect ratio, almost aligned in area with metric best practices (90000 square km). While Belgium... puff.

Oh, I almost missed this one.

A large sculpture of an elephant covered with a plain white sheet, leaving only its trunk, feet, and parts of its ears visible. The sheet drapes heavily over the animal, creating folds that emphasize its hidden bulk. The scene is set indoors in a neutral-colored room with tiled flooring and beige walls.

Much of the current zeitgeist is a performative construct.

A large black metal sculpture in the shape of an upraised middle finger, seen from behind with visible supporting structures, standing on a stone pedestal in a landscaped park with red dirt paths, trimmed grass, and surrounding trees under a cloudy sky. Two people are sitting on a low wall in the background.

This is the concept of a pedestrian street in Portugal: - make it pedestrian - contemplate in horror all the empty space left for walking - add parking spaces - leave a tiny strip for pedestrians Perfect!

A small paved parking area with cobblestone ground, featuring a few trees and black bollards. A silver car is parked in one of the spaces, with several motorcycles and bicycles lined up nearby. Shadows from the trees fall across the ground, and a white wall with railings runs along the right side of the scene. In the background, there are buildings with windows and air conditioning units.

Miro using salience and pre attentive processing. Clearly a #datavis expert, with a twist.

A museum wall text explains Joan Miró’s aspiration from the 1920s to make “simply a line or a point” perceptible, revisited in the 1960s in minimalist works like Landscape. It discusses how, for Miró, emptiness was linked to silence, and how even the smallest mark becomes significant within a vast empty space, likening it to a tiny blue dot on a large white surface. A minimalist painting with an off-white background covering the entire canvas, featuring a single small blue dot slightly to the right of center, framed in light wood.

View down a wide pedestrian walkway and parallel avenue in Barcelona, with the Venetian Towers in the background, a red and black bus on the road, and several people walking under a sunny blue sky. Open plaza with tall cylindrical columns and the white, futuristic Montjuïc Communications Tower in Barcelona, under a bright, partly cloudy sky Palm tree-lined promenade by the marina in Barcelona, with boats and masts visible on the left and historic buildings on the right, on a sunny day.
