These abductions and disappearances are war on the American people. Fascists hate the greatness of our diverse collective, ripe with potential because of our shared belief in following our callings to contribute to our shared unique, and sometimes pretty great, society.
$4k/day? Even more grotesque is that they spent all this money to build a place where people had to press themselves into the shower walls to get the little water dripping down them, with inadequate air cooling & sewage leaks, entirely infested with mosquitos & other pests, & food with worms in it.

Thanks for this. Imo transferring workers is about defunding FEMA & divesting from emergency management, not an ICE HR problem. Workers are learning the GOP might not find judicial support for firing them, but they can be transferred or lose their income & be put on a list of enemies of the state.
Praying for an intervention and psych eval. He told us he eats roadkill and all manner of unclean food, and that he thinks worms in his brain have influenced his behavior and we laughed. It's not funny.
Familial, communal and societal trauma in his childhood put him on a path to self destruction. I think maybe only the people closest to him can save him and us.
The nihilism is unbearable. When people decide to kill themselves but first kill their partners or children or parents or neighbors or fellow townspeople or strangers, we grieve and don't understand why everybody had to die. That's what this feels like.
Or does it just mean the feds can't legally fire fhe FEMA workers, have no real intention of saving any of us from anything, have no interest in developing probationary workers at FEMA, and are transferring these workers to ICE, their agency of preference?

Immigration court felt like a murderous reality show today. The judge granted two gentlemen asylum hearings in 2029. But it was all a sham—They were abducted by ICE before they left the building. There is more the City & the State must do. We cannot allow the rule of law to be eroded case by case.
