"Voters"is the wrong word. Electorate is the correct term. The Electorate allowed a mere 31% of registered voters to elect a criminal to the highest office in the Republic.
GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
Not _voters._ The _electorate_ is responsible. People who voted for Harris aren't to blame. It's the 38% of registered voters who didn't bother that allowed 32% of the electorate to elect an insurrectionist convicted felon to the highest office of the Republic.
GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
They're using the wrong word; it's not voters, it's the _electorate_ who allowed Trump and the sycophants in Congress to gain control. That includes the registered voters who sat out this one.

We must note that absolutely nothing happened after Trump sent troops; the didn't arrest any terrorists, no weapons caches were seized, there's not even any evidence that they disrupted MS13 gang activities. Trump only proved that LA was never in danger.

I notice that you're not citing the Constitution. While I'm sure you find it reassuring to read someone's interpretation of what the Executive can and cannot do, that summary glosses over a lot of facts and history to make its inaccurate descriptions. www.archives.gov/founding-doc...

GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
It comes back to checks and balances; if we vote only one party into office, with one agenda, we negate the system's design. We ended up here because we elected a Legislative branch that is unwilling to oppose the Executive. Adding judges to the ballot doesn't mitigate that.
GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
Again, each POTUS only got to appoint a couple justices out of 9: where would be if we'd been electing justices at the same time? We consistently fail to vote wisely. Giving us more opportunities to f*ck things up is no improvement. Start by electing better people in Congress.

GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
They did the only thing necessary to be counted as a voter: THEY REGISTERED TO VOTE. The fact that both parties offend them to the point they decided not to participate reflects a choice they made: they reject all the options. So no, "half the voters" did not choose. 32% is all he got, period.

Trump Has no authority to fire a Fed governor: issuing an illegal order makes Trump the criminal... on top of all the other things that designate him as a criminal.
GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
Do you seriously believe the electorate that put a twice-impeached money-laundering fraud-committing sexually predatory convicted felon in the White House would do a better job with judges? And Supreme Court justices can be impeached and removed: not by this Congress, but the mechanism is there.
GADFLY: the Practical Heretic (@agadfly.bsky.social) reply parent
