That's a win? He enacted tariffs that tanked the markets. When he paused said tariffs the markets rebounded. They still haven't gotten back to where they had been though. How do people buy into this stuff?

If tariffs stay in place long term it will be very detrimental to the economy. In my opinion, though there are some good deals now, the overall market is not cheap right now. Even if you look at trailing results, it is not cheap on a historical basis. This is just my opinion. Not advice. 👇
If and when something definitive comes out, consider the information and how it affects the thesis of individual companies you follow long term. Most people will not be served well by selling. Opportunities to buy do exist in this environment. That said, there is a lot of uncertainty right now. 👇

Even if the goal is to bring all manufacturing back to the US doing so would likely cause an extreme spike in prices. American workers require higher pay, benefits etc. The cost of moving manufacturing operations completely out of another country and into the US would be very high. 👇
It would be prohibitively expensive to manufacture some products here. Most people would not want to work for the low pay in the textiles business for instance. We are deporting large numbers of people who could fill open jobs at a time when some businesses are already struggling to workers. 👇
There are so many layers to the tariff/stock market stuff. Tariffs aren't going to bring all manufacturing jobs back to the United States. There is no reason to want them all to return for so many reasons. We don't have enough workers to fill all of those jobs. Continues 👇

Great point. Some other considerations are that we currently don't have enough workers to fill all job openings. Plus we are removing workers from the country who could fill those jobs. We also have to consider what it looks like to manufacture things like textiles here. Very inflationary.
