I disabled youtube. Hopefully I will not receive anything more of that ilk.
I tried to exit & it wouldn't close, so I force stopped it again, but now I am concerned. Now that after having the phone for years & finally opening youtube, does that make it vulnerable to anything anyone wants to send? Was it spam? How do I stop it? Do I just disable Youtube on it entirely?ARGH!
This is extremely disturbing. I don't use Youtube on my phone b/c safety, but I accidentally opened a link a friend sent a few days ago,but immediately force stopped it. Today I got a heretofore unseen by me alert icon, & it was a youtube sent to me by someone I don't know, and it opened on its own.
I mean, I probably already have, but if I can keep up the Mash-up of Joan Jett & Stevie Nicks trajectory, I'll be fine. (Happier without the chronic ailment nonsense, but in regards to style & mindset, I'm all there!)
It's past time to feed the kitties lunch, but no one wants to eat because it is too hot. They will likely get an early dinner instead.

I have always thought in the back of my mind cheese and onions.
Trying to get things done, but also having a difficult time wrapping my brain around the various stuff (waves hand at world) going on. It's too hot here, all the cats are flat. I may just join them.
My memories of the 80's include late night club crawls through endless L.A. traffic, the air filled with a mix of smoke & AquaNet. Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cramps, etc throbbed through the speakers, & in later years, synthpop. Or the glory of the paisley underground. Thai food at 3 am.
Admittedly, every now & then you get someone who isn't so great. Our luck with plumbers has been abysmal. But overall, word of mouth, personal referral is the way to go when at all possible. Also, pay cash + tip, but get a receipt to prove if need be to insurance you had whatever work it was done.
Word-of-mouth referral is absolutely essential, and FAR better (than "apps") for finding reliable folks who care about doing a good job right. Because they know that is what leads to more referrals. AND the folks that hire you are more loyal & will call back the next time.

The movie adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club was delightful! I urge those who have access to Netflix to watch it. The casting was overall spot on. My *only* complaint is that, based on my memory of the book, there were some changes in the ending that don't sit well, but otherwise A+!

All went well with Mister Mayhem's vet appointment! He's in great shape, they just recommend a dental. Because they always do. And we'll keep an eye on his activities to make sure there are no changes. But yay!

Mister Mayhem has an appointment with his new veterinarian today. The staff is very excited to meet a cat named Mayhem. I explained that he is really a very good natured, even shy, fellow, not a "caution kitty" at all.

When I would get home from overnight sits he would do this little circle dance & yap, and I'd pick him up for cuddles! It was the best! We'd sit together, or he'd cuddle with the cats. We didn't change his name b/c you don't do that to a ten year old dog, but we added "Darth." He also loved treats.
Yes. Brodie was given up by his former people at age 10 when he developed diabetes. The rescue called me because they knew I wanted a dog, and had experience giving injections. The moment I saw him *I KNEW!* But I was also scared as I'd never had a dog as an adult, only cats. But we bonded shortly.
Reading about your journey with Terry means so much to me, as it reminds me of my deeply missed Darth Brodie dog, and the bond we formed. I know you treasure each other!

For Reasons, I just rewatched Justified: City Primeval over the past few days. Liked it much better on the second watch, as usual, some of the stories' more subtle elements are apparent (in a story that is overall, not subtle. And the ending...worked. Felt right.

His person was in hospital as of a couple of days ago. We haven't heard anything since then, so I have trepidations. Shadow is a good dog, but not a dog we can keep, for many reasons. It was supposed to just be a couple of days, then the person's friends would take him. It NEVER works that way.
We set a tarp over the deck to provide some shade for the guest dog. We can't allow him in the house or to run loose because he is, not out of meanness, but nonetheless, a cat chaser. And a force of destruction. He has shredded a dog bed, a blanket, & a stuffed toy. He now has a hard ball he adores.

Finally saw Superman! Loved the Krypto bits, Disappointed they aligned the Engineer with Extremely Evil Lex. Nathan Fillion was kind of perfect as Guy Gardner. Mr. Terrific was nicely done. And they finally got Ma & Pa Kent right. As well as the character, kindness & heart of Superman himself.
Honestly, I only hold true affection for Donna Troy. And possibly Lilith.

Pain was full-on back today. For the life of me I can't figure out what I did that made the difference. My body is just capricious, I guess. But it hurts my mind, feeling good just long enough to have it taken away. And yet, I am also profoundly grateful for days I'm not in pain. But it's confusing.
If you are at World Con, please consider masking in public in the days after as covid takes about 3-5 days on average to appear on a test. If you consider yourself someone who cares about disabled people, children, and just your fellow human, mask up to protect others just in case.

Thank you! After a very difficult day yesterday, I somehow slept well, and awoke pain-free. It's a nice change, and I am not looking it in the mouth! It's amazing how much better my mood is.
I am having this miraculous pain-free day (yay!) so I dressed real cute, and did a bunch of chores around the house.

I just found out one of my favorite recent book series, The Thursday Murder Club, has been made into a movie! SO excited! Even better, the character I had mindcast as Helen Mirren is indeed being played by Helen Mirren! All the casting seems perfect! Downside is it's on Netflix.

A sad end of an era. It was so exciting when Archie Comics had a resurgence, between their legitimately frightening horror comics, & Riverdale tv show (mixed bag that it was.
