DC is occupied right now so it would be crazy for people to get too off the hook. Remember, Dear Leader is the same guy who said, “When the looting starts the shooting starts.” He’s got our national guard in DC right now and Trump’s trigger finger is itchy to do some in-your-face fascism.
I love this wording, “The law effectively erases the paid sick leave hours that employees began accruing under the previous law.” No the law didn’t do any of that. YOU, the EMPLOYER are doing that because the law no longer obliges you to do the right thing by your employees. Filthy liars.
Whatever it is purported to mean - when Kennedy uses it what he is really saying is, “Children are creeped out by me and won’t meet my beady gaze, therefore…mitochondrial challenges.”
True. That’s more telling about our current society than anything else. Lying is so normalized. But ask me where Anne Frank is being hidden, I would have no trouble at all lying my ass off. I just really, hate the kind of lying that is so commonplace in business, politics and even relationships.
Heh. Considering how corruption and lying is so normalized in our society I can see how one might come to that conclusion. But I have just seen how lies, even white lies told in kindness, are destructive. If people were more receptive to truth we would all be living in a better world.
I’ve never thought of myself as neurodivergent although I suppose it’s possible. But honesty is my prime core value. I want the truth from others & I absolutely hate having to tell even little white lies to others. Some people will do anything to avoid conflict, I will do anything to avoid lying.
Tossing the sandwich was a moment of impotent rage that would have been comical were it not for the fact that we live in dangerous times. Our government is committing outrageous crimes & pardoning criminals who do their bidding. But dare to throw a sandwich at a government dog & OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

I looked forward to when my kids were enough to share their thoughts (and play board games) with me. My father & I had philosophical conversations all the time. He was a kind & patient teacher & a great listener. I miss him. But I passed his nature on to my children. Working on the next generation.
The upside is that Trump has become an example for what NOT to do-kinda like Goofus & Gallant (I’m old). So if they try to lie they’ll be met with “Don’t be Trump with a sharpie” and other such comments.
Their other grandparents are Trumpers who watch Fox News all day. So at a very young age these kiddos started having questions. The parents & I have to carefully explain about Trump while also saying he tricked a lot of people so they won’t think ill of the other grandparents. It sucks.
I watched “The Wizard of Oz” with my 6 & 8yr old gr-children during a recent sleep-over. They had never seen it and found it crazy that the munchkins were singing “Ding Ding the Witch is Dead” I said, live your life so people don’t rejoice when you die. They said, “Like Trump?” They know what’s up.
I would love to see an AI of the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee dancing around the Donald, wagging their fingers at him & singing a parody of En Vogue’s “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It). We need this, *I* need this in my life. Make it happen! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!

The people that I know on Medicaid are severely disabled, elderly or young parents whose employer isn’t paying a living wage or offering insurance. I can’t figure out where they are going to get these imaginary people. Maybe they hang out with the legendary ‘welfare queens’ that Reagan demonized.

I received the message about “mysterious ways”, being unable to trust my own skills of reasoning because our brains are flawed. Despite my doubts I struggled to remain a believer until I left the church due to bigotry. “There is no hate like Christian love” -or really any religion. Hate is built in.
I didn’t grow up Pentecostal but I can relate. We had one preacher who loved to preach hell & damnation, red-faced, raised voice & occasionally thumping on the pulpit for emphasis. I started asking awkward questions at about the age of 9, not to be impudent but because I truly wanted to understand.
This whole ‘talking in tongues’ bullshit is evidence of how some religious sects teach their followers to be liars from birth. They hear this and learn to imitate it a sign of faith. The ones who question it learn to fake it to be accepted or risk being shunned or punished as a nonbeliever.
He doesn’t believe in a God, never has. But he understands that his voters do. So in order to get his religious followers on board with the bombing he was advised to bring God into it. If you bring God into it, then “something, something God works in mysterious ways” and *POOF* the Christians agree.

Just saw this for the first time while eating at a small Mexican restaurant. Music videos of Latina music were playing on a TV in the corner. The music breaks & this pops up on the screen. I can’t begin to tell you how particularly vile it was to hear this in the setting of a Mexican restaurant.
MO passed Medicaid expansion via ballot which means that the legislature can’t pass changes to the expansion without voter approval. The rural voters in the state rely more heavily on Medicaid than the urban voters & Josh knows where his voters live. His stance on cuts is purely job preservation.
