The 1st 10 yrs of M.E. (like Long Covid) I spent $$$ on holistic care in a desperate search for a cure. But the greater harm was done by rogue MDs who talked me into radical antibiotic/antiviral/antifungal treatments and even scared me into removing my (healthy) thyroid. This wrecked me permanently.

Zack Polanski absolutely steamrolls to victory in the Green Party election- 20,411 votes and beating Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns who got just 3,075 votes. A watershed moment in left politics and for the Green Party. And hard to see how Corbyn/Sultana party now makes case for its own existence

People misunderstand karma. It's much more complicated than our revenge fantasies portray. And even if those were accurate, it would mean everything we suffer- like Trump- is the result of our own bad actions. This would in turn make Trump what the MAGAs imagine him to be, a kind of holy vengeance.

According to the Milankovitch Cycles (axial tilt & precession, with cycle times of 41,000 and 22,000 years) the earth should also be slowly cooling because we were heading into the next glaciation, and until about 100 years ago this was the prevailing pattern.

For decades the Murdoch press has shrieked about high taxes, to the point a large proportion of the poorest in the country believe they are overtaxed. Freezing of the tax threshold has made it worse. And the "I'm paying for the sick/ elderly/unemployed" mentality makes the case for raising tax hard

Not only does the UK have a relatively low tax burden, unearned wealth/passive income is taxed at a lower rate than labour, and the less well off pay a higher proportion of their income as tax. This “Triple Whammy” of underinvestment and inequality is the main reason the country is failing.

Once something becomes normalised and trendy, especially when disseminated by social media, this boosts demand. Most of the owners won't be able to look after them properly for practical reasons. They also require highly specialised (expensive) medical care.

You're making it seem like this was a survival choice. But it's big business to steal wild animals to be bred, trained, traded to zoos and parks. The older members of their group would have been killed. The Japanese do this to 1000ds of dolphins every year, causing the wild populations to plummet.

The literal definition of jihad is "struggle." In scriptures, that's mostly referred to as internal struggle to embody the teachings. But in headlines it's synonymous with violence- an external struggle. So if a reporter asks a Muslim: Yes or no, do you believe in jihad? Isn't that a trick question?
Ani (@aninewforest.bsky.social) reply parent
Right, because Zionism in practice sticks to the dictionary definition. I can see the uproar now in the Knesset: "We must put an immediate stop to the settler violence and rapid expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank! It goes against the dictionary!"
Ani (@aninewforest.bsky.social) reply parent
Zionism isn't synonymous with the right for Israel to exist. Zionism implies supremacy, entitlement, imperialism, endless expansion, ie. endless war. Believing, as Corbyn does, that the latter is problematic, doesn't mean believing Jews should be annihilated. The Zionists are convinced it does.
