When it became clear that Francis didn't have much time left, I thought it certain he would be replaced by some reactionary. It was your account, Sir, that convinced me otherwise.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
It's time to retire, dude. You're really not up to this, and it's ok to bow out gracefully.

Absolutely no surprise to the New York Times effectively running an ad for this billionaire funded controlled opposition.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
The only reason these clowns have money is because billionaire donors are paying them to prop up oligarchy.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Fetterman became a diet-MAGA stooge after this guy came to work for him.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
We did this last year, and it did not work. Touring with Liz Cheney, allowing the GOP to vilify Trans folks, and pretending Palestinians don't exist accomplished absolutely nothing. And nothing is precisely what these Searchlight clowns stand for, just lukewarm Third Way-ism that hurts most of us.

I'm starting to believe that the people we think of as "elite liberals" are not liberal in reality.

Trump didn't even give a Medal of Freedom to Rick Rescorla, who saved 2,700 people on 9/11 and sacrificed his life trying to make sure nobody had been left behind. He gave him some lesser award, but gives PMOFs to guys like Limbaugh.

There are plenty of word puzzles available on the internet. There's absolutely no reason to fund the normalization of fascism because of Wordle.

Rick's preparations saved hundreds, if not thousands of lives that day. He died while going floor to floor, making sure all his people got out.

We need a Democratic equivalent of the Tea Party. A giant wave that washes out the Democratic Party establishment which has mismanaged everything and gotten us to this point.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
The Wilpons had unilateral control of that team for far too long. I don't think Fred ever truly cared for the franchise itself, he wished it was the Brooklyn Dodgers, and Jeff was a loathsome micromanager who didn't know his ass from his elbow. Good riddance to both.

I hope you bury that cockroach in November.

In 2004, my platoon searched the home of a former Iraqi Colonel during a neighborhood-wide sweep. He was polite, related to us as a soldier himself, but firmly stated that disbanding the Army was a huge mistake that was fueling the insurgency. I still trust his judgement far more than Bremer's.

Progressive New Yorkers, please cancel your Times subscriptions. The paper is actively trying to sabotage Mamdani in addition to acting as stenographers for fascists. There are plenty of other publications that are worthy of your money. Stop giving it to people who hold you in contempt.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump wants to unleash ICE in NYC, and wants to send in National Guardsmen from red states. Cuomo will roll right over and let him, and that's something voters need to realize.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
This is a fact that I've had to remind my Republican brother about on more than one occasion. It also bears mentioning that some 5000 Black soldiers fought for America during the Revolution. They made up roughly 20% of the total force.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
I don't think they'll pull it off. Planter has the sort of energy and enthusiasm to win a primary, especially one against a 77 year old at a time that voters are fed up with sending senior citizens to Congress.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
At this point I'm treating nearly everything Schumer does as a deliberate effort to sabotage the party.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
Sir, I believe much of the Democratic Leadership is weak and ineffective, but Jeffries is particularly inept, even among that group. I very much hope he loses his primary next year.

Fuck the moral high ground. We've pursued it for over a decade while the GOP has used our absence in the low ground to seize more and more power. No more. Fight fire with fire, and don't give a damn inch on anything. Ever.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
I agree that the party broadly needs unity and solidarity across the board, but I also think it's perfectly acceptable to badmouth Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Case in point, this bothsides garbage from the NYT Opinion section. This is literally on the Republicans, but Dash Sulzberger supports Trump and doesn't want to seriously criticize the GOP.
Andrew (@anr1211.bsky.social) reply parent
Exactly, and I'm saying this as a Democrat who thought the "Centrist" route was the way to go last year. I was wrong. Trying to appeal to soft Republican voters got us into this mess, and it sure as Hell won't get us out of it.
