14/ And that's what I want to write about too. We don't just expect our Dem pols to be magnitudes of removed from the realities of life. The thought of billionaire oil barons authenticating our existence is abhorrent. We want Reps that are US. That LIVE, by EXAMPLE, what the Reds preach.
13/ He's been a total failure on lead-by-example (through COVID) and especially inclusion. Dems should literally be the party you don't have to fight within for your existence! Contrast with Log Cabiners, who MUST fight for their OWN EXISTENCE among an authoritarian party obessed with enforcement!
12/ And that's why Newsom is so rightfully despised...he's utterly, completely disconnected from the very people he SHOULD be representing. And it's frustrating that someone so effectively countering the soft civil war in national media and in redistricting can't apply these things to his State.
11/ We *understand* that everyone has their own "normal" and we must work with that rather than clapping handcuffs on everyone for not being some goofy ideal that no one can ever factually be, because everyone is more complicated than genitals, place of birth, economic status, etc.
10/ And I spent a lot of time on that because it sooooooo bluntly contrasts with what we expect out of Dem political leadership. We don't expect "enforcement" of lock-step norms. We aren't looking looking for what are essentially behavior cops with lawyer degrees and intense debate training.
9/ And that's where personal norms, and overarching, Dominionist, patriarchal, Republican, commerce-baron level "norms" clash. You support these "norms" until you, by natural consequence, are ousted (or usually worse) for not being "normal" ENOUGH. Like...Log Cabin Republicans.
8/ Because everyone's norms are relative to themselves, including ground-level authoritarians. If it was normal for me to travel the world every season, I'd never think that the fuel I'm consuming by doing all these trips I don't need is contributing to climate change.

Dear, it is NOT just about New York. They are not the House Speaker of New York. They are not the Senate Leader of New York. They are the NATIONAL House Rep and Senate minority eaders. If you don't want New York reps to NATIONALLY represent a party, go tell them to resign their offices.
