I think a large part of it is that we gave too much of our society over to capitalism. Human nature and by extension society is built on a dual nature of self interest and compassion. But capitalism just focuses on self interest. Compassion is squeezed out. And that has bled compassion from society.
My neuropathy is very resistant to pain meds. Standard sorts don't even touch it. The only thing that works at all is Lyrica. It just limits the pain. I have a friend who has much more standard pain and yeah they cut him off from necessary meds for fear of addiction reducing his quality of life.

Everyone gets that as a narcissist trump can't really understand other people because he lacks empathy. His negotiation tactics are trying to leverage whatever power he has over people to force them to do what he wants. And that doesn't work in situations like this.
Normally this would fit the bill. But my other medical issues preclude quiet and calm. Migraines are the lesser of the pain I deal with.
But genuinely thanks for the concern. Its a human reminder in a time when humanity is a bit more rare than it should be.
Unfortunately for medical reasons I can't quite break free. The migraine is actually my lesser pain. I have partial peripheral neuropathy which causes damage to nerves which in turn cause continuous pain. So I need things active to take my mind off the pain. The chronic migraines are just a bonus.
This is a medical alert. Migraines suck. This has been a medical alert. If it had been an actual emergency you would have been far too preoccupied to notice.

I say this as a diabetic with cardio myopathy that fought like crazy to avoid covid until a child sneezed on me while I was at the Drs. Just sneezed all over me right as I was walking by. Cloud of particles everywhere. I seem to have cleared it as I was vaxed to the max. But grrrrr

Agreed. Though its not just age. Its the damage that has occurred as well. I took a viral hit to my heart years ago which resulted in Cardio Myopathy. When we discovered it my Ejection Fraction was 35%. With proper meds and exercise I am back up in the 65% range.
I will assume the Drs know what they are doing and are trying to balance the problematic aspects against the dire conditions they are treating. The difference between medicine and poison is dosage.
The Drs reported that they had to pressure him to go to the hospital when he did by telling him if he waited any longer he would not be able to do so under his own power and he would be transported on a gurney. That is what got him to acknowledge he was deeply ill.

Congestive Heart Failure is a broad diagnosis. It just means the heart is experience problems moving blood through the system. Depending on what is causing this it can lead to different symptoms and treatments. But it can be anywhere from a minor threat to a critical life threatening incident.
It depends on how bad the congestive heart failure is. The first symptoms were likely the ankles swelling. Then they pumped him full of anticoagulants which in turn caused his hands to bruise.
From the still going around his posture does look like someone dealing with mobility issues. But its a still frame and I would need to see him in motion to be sure.

We don't have the numbers. Just for a single day protest the best we managed so far is maybe around 10 million. To pull off a GS we need at least 12.5 million from the labor force able to spend up to a month off the job. This requires logistics and planning and support. We don't have the numbers.

It truly is. But the pragmatic views is that over time progress always wins. Or at least has done so throughout history. But for those of us stuck in the middle of it ... as the curse goes, "May you live in interesting times". The pendulum of politics does not swing back on its own. It is dragged.

We had a community mutual aid fare here a couple weeks ago. And as we were ending the day we dumped out a bunch of ice and one of our team's kids were playing with it and smashing it against a tree saying "I like smashing Ice". Needless to say we all cracked up and encouraged her.
