I hate and fear authoritarians just as much as you (I guess) but not sure all of them will make global warming so much worse, they clearly don't make it better, but that is not the same as making it (much) worse.China is autocratic and they are still on plan to be carbon neutral by 2060.

Maybe something like at least four times a week one of the following: Brassicas (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc), Pulses (peas, beans), leafy(Chard, Spinach). Btw potato is also good if you don't add sodium salt.

Don't get me wrong it is cool that vegetables rich diet induced higher potassium is associated with lower death. I am eating beets tonight but articles like this are the start of horrible food fads with negative health outcomes. The message should be: eat a diverse range of vegetables often.

Yes Dublin agreement did not really work well for many reasons, it was problematic to the asylum seekers and a bit unfair to the border countries and countries dealing with surges. It was better than what we have now though.

I agree, and it is infuriating, but I think it really is a certain sincere conscious naive optimism that you can change the system for the better by being part of it and if the other make millions you can do to. And you know what, it is infuriating but it is not always bad, it actually works a bit.

I was shocked when I first saw these results from standard climate models used in IPCC reports: for high emissions, the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC shuts down in all 9 models that ran past 2100, and is well on the way to shutdown by 2100. Our paper on that is out today.🧵

Yes of course, depends on the additional analysis and the results how interesting it is. If it is just a contaminant it is not that interesting(still worth publishing!) if you found an interesting reason (for instance metabolic codependency) that would be more interesting.

Erfbelasting kan zeer geleidelijk omhoog, eerst 10 jaar alles boven de miljoen extra belasten. Zelfde voor hypotheekrenteaftrek, eerst alleen afschaffen voor de portie van de hypotheek boven de miljoen. Zo pak je er geen gewone hard werkende mensen mee.

Thanks for the clarification. I did see the graph, bot others might not, so important to point it out. My uneducated guess just was that those countries would be even less religious than the UK or the Netherlands, but in one reading of your data that is not the case.

Let's be clear: all the AI in edtech stuff (Canvas, Blackboard, Grammarly, Duolingo, OpenAI, the rest) is all about the "lock-in" - locking in students as subscribers or institutions via long-term license agreements for value generation. Is there good pedagogic evidence for it? No.

This is true for many field often not considered creative (but are): science, engineering etc. Science is humans learning to understand nature, engineering is creating things (tools) that make human lives easier. That requires humans interacting in the creative proces. AI cannot replace that.

If those numbers are true it's a quarter of the population protesting. That makes it one the relatively largest protests ever. Still too few? Yes, as long the state is committing genocide any protest is too small, but the regime is not supported by the people and hopefully topples, soon.
